You have no right to something you can't afford unless you breach somebody else's right to either liberty or property.

If you have children they are your responsibility. It is parents’ responsibility to provide a moral compass and instil good behaviour in their children. We welcome today’s guilty verdict involving Ben Jamal of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign and Chris Nineham of the Stop the War Coalition, which underlines that the right to protest must be balanced with the right of Jewish communities to worship safely and without intimidation. This case was not about restricting lawful protest, but about enforcing proportionate police conditions to prevent disruption to Jewish families attending synagogue on Shabbat, the most sacred day of the week. The court has rightly recognised that synagogues are not political venues and protecting places of worship and those attending them is both reasonable and necessary. jewishnews.co.uk/pro-palestine-…

Rory, you are being naive and obtuse. You call the British "racists" while conveniently ignoring the deep-seated racism that is emanating from quite a large proportion of the Muslim community. You ignore the fact that according to MI5, the overwhelming majority on their watchlist are not "far-right" racists, but Islamists, despite Muslims only being 6-7% of the population. The most deadly terrorist attacks in Europe over the past decade have been Islamic terrorism. You won't find Christians calling for canon law to be imposed nor blasphemy laws to prevent anybody criticising Christianity. Nobody has been forced into hiding for "insulting Christians". There ARE many moderate Muslims, but often even they are afraid to speak out because the authorities and institutions don't support them, as well as fear of reprisal from the Islamists within their own communities.

I am appalled by today’s verdict against Ben Jamal and Chris Nineham. In January 2025, we held an entirely peaceful demonstration in support of Palestinian people. At all times, they — and we — followed all police instructions. We ended the demonstration by laying down flowers at their feet to mourn the deaths of Palestinian children. Today’s verdict is a dark day for civil liberties in this country — and is a disgraceful assault on the right to protest. My solidarity is with Ben, Chris and all those who have stood up for our common humanity in the face of genocide. This case is part of a wider attempt to intimidate the Palestinian solidarity movement into silence. They will never succeed.
