@stephenRB4 Salted. The first time I came across the sweet stuff I was taken by surprise. Never recovered.

@CatasusAina 5000 items, IIRC. I paid to upgrade, and I'm already at 5206 in my main library, plus a few hundred more in my audio, video and magazine libraries.

So...I just maxed out my Libib account. Now I either stop cataloguing my books...or I pay to upgrade.

@DarynFaulkner I don't mind if a book uses American spellings and punctuation. I don't mind if a book uses British spellings and punctuation. But mix them and I'll want to stab my eyes out.

Readers, especially US folks: Does it really bother you when a writer mixes in US English and British English spellings within a work? Personally, I think the Brits have the nicer spellings for a solid 80% of words where we have our little disagreements...

Were you taught to use double spaces after punctuation? I was never taught this, but I see other writers do this a lot. Editing pro tip: You only need one space after punctuation—not two. 😉

Okay, writers, super important question: Do you get this reference? "So, you want me to move a giant block of concrete, weight unknown? Here, let me just eat a can of spinach first."

@the_erik_doran @ChrystalMAuthor And yet, the ones in Chinese were just straight up right there...though often so badly mispronounced that I couldn't quite figure out what they were trying to say!

@ChrystalMAuthor Yes and no. I enjoy coming up with new curses that have the same effect in universe but are safe in ours. Gorramit and Rutting from Firefly are two of my favorites.

Do you write profanities in your novels? Mine are riddled with them, and people seem to get really offended. Are we censoring ourselves like this in today’s world?

@ChrystalMAuthor If you want those readers, take them out. If those aren't the readers you want, leave them in. There are a lot of people who don't like profanity in their reading, but maybe you're not trying to sell to that block of readers.

@HLDocherty Thought #1: GAHHHH!!! Thought #2: The publisher of the magazines I write for won't allow semicolons because they "look stuffy." She also won't allow any punctuation on the covers, and since the article titles go on the cover...

I read an article on a publisher website saying no semicolons because they confuse the reader. Thoughts? #WritingCommunity
