@TimHoustonNS Why is there a check mark beside Forestry? You closed the Northern Pulp mill which was the kingpin of the forestry sector supply chain. Reopen NP, and reinvigorate the forestry sector. The vast amounts of biomass that threaten NSian's homes, could be fuel used for electricity

We have a plan to grow our economy and create good jobs across Nova Scotia 🏗️ Our economic plan is about developing what we have right here at home: ✅ Onshore gas ✅ Offshore oil and gas ✅ Offshore wind ✅ Forestry, fishing, and mining We’re already seeing that plan in action 👇 ✅ Eigg Mountain Wind Project creating jobs, clean energy, and new local revenue ✅ Touquoy gold project creating nearly 200 jobs with no new mining and continued cleanup ✅ Goldboro gold mine approved, bringing over 700 jobs and a $2.1 billion boost to our economy We also passed the Powering the Economy Act ⚡️ Securing benefits from offshore wind, creating new industries, and making sure Nova Scotians see the returns on these projects for generations to come. We can develop our resources responsibly. We can create more good jobs for Nova Scotians. We can build a more self-reliant province that protects our natural environment. We are making it happen. Unlock our potential. Pay our own way. Build a stronger Nova Scotia for today and the future.

Clean air and a strong economy go hand in hand. 🍃 We’re updating Nova Scotia’s Air Quality Regulations for the first time in decades, expanding the number of regulated pollutants from 6 to 26. That means clearer rules, stronger protections, and healthier communities—while supporting the industries that create good-paying jobs. And it’s working. Nova Scotia now ranks #1 in Canada for emissions reductions. We’re growing our economy the right way: with modern standards, cleaner operations, and a focus on the health of Nova Scotians. Good jobs. Clean air. Responsible growth. Let's make it happen! ✅ Learn more: news.novascotia.ca/en/2026/04/16/…

@TimHoustonNS It's a little rich to believe that you give a 💩 about resource-based industry in NS. You shutdown the most important part of the forestry sector supply chain and expect NSians to believe that you care about extracting the benefits from our resource sector? You're a tool

Atlantic Canada is too dependent on the United States for energy. In an uncertain world, that doesn’t make sense. Nova Scotia has the resources right here at home. Through Nova Oil and Natural Gas and Wind West, we can produce our own energy, get it to market, and help lower energy prices here at home while helping power Canada. That means good jobs, stronger communities, and less dependence on the United States. Nova Scotia can be the energy superpower that helps Canada stand on its own.

@TimHoustonNS Not on your watch! You don't have what it takes to lead a marching band, let alone a backwater province like NS. The only motivations you have are those of billionaire neighbors. I hope you thanked @ABDanielleSmith for the transfer payments that pay the bills here in NS.

Thank you Premier Smith for being a strong partner and an ally as Nova Scotia steps up to become an energy superpower. Canada needs more Canadian energy. And we’re ready to deliver.
Danielle Smith@ABDanielleSmith

Premier Tim Houston @TimHoustonNS and I are working closely together to build a stronger, more self-reliant Canada. Alberta and Nova Scotia see eye to eye on the need to develop our natural resources, grow our economy, and reduce reliance on foreign energy. Today’s roundtable centered on ensuring we match oil and gas expertise here in Alberta with new opportunities in Nova Scotia’s onshore natural gas sector. Special thanks to Minister Brian Jean @BrianJeanAB for putting today together.

@TimHoustonNS We're a subsidized province. We're not any type of superpower as your federal leader (Carney) says. If you and your billionaire neighbors get the wind farm built, it will be because it benefits them and Brookfield. It won't have any positive impact on NSians

Nova Scotia is the Defence Capital of Canada and we are building on that strength. With new defence investments and growing opportunities in shipbuilding, aerospace, and innovation, we are creating good jobs and driving economic growth right here at home. This is about more than defence. It is about stronger communities, a more resilient economy, and a future where Nova Scotians can build their careers here. We have the people, the expertise, and the opportunity. And we are making sure Nova Scotia leads.

@TimHoustonNS Why TF haven't you done this before now? You've been Premier 5 yrs! Now you're trying to push expensive wind power on NSians for your billionaire neighbors. You're spineless and can't lead. You're not pro resource industry unless your neighbors say so. 🙄

Past governments turned away from the chance to develop our energy here at home. That meant missed jobs, higher costs, and more dependence on energy shipped from around the world. We can do better. Developing our own energy safely and responsibly can create good jobs, help lower energy costs, and make Nova Scotia stronger and more self-reliant.

@TinaComeaunews @stphnmaher Better hope that Brookfield doesn't want to own the fishery or new Canadians will be running your boats and e/one will be home with a universal basic income from the Liberal government of Canada.

@stephenmoore902 Great news for @TimHoustonNS wealthy neighbors who might want certain projects approved, o/wise NS will forge ahead being the backwater that it is b/c Houston lacks the testicular fortitude to lead. Wind power will suck all investment $ and benefit only a few wealthy friends.

Great to meet with Prime Minister Mark Carney to sign an agreement to speed up approvals for major projects in Nova Scotia. Our one project, one review model will cut duplication, shorten timelines, and give more certainty to builders and investors. This will help get Nova Scotia's Wind West project moving, faster. With some of the strongest and most consistent offshore winds in the world, Wind West has the potential to power about a quarter of Canada's electricity needs. All this means we can move faster on key infrastructure and energy projects, grow our economy, and position Nova Scotia as an energy leader. Learn more: news.novascotia.ca/en/2026/03/27/…

@stokdog Take note @TimHoustonNS . Your ridiculous wind power plan will suck wealth and resources away from actual viable options. Scrap the wind energy plan, and build nuclear plant(s).

Nova Scotia’s economy has to grow. Across Canada, provinces are facing deficits and slower revenue growth. And we’re not immune. To unlock our full potential, we need new sources of revenue that allow us to build and grow. In a time of growing global uncertainty, saying yes to developing our own natural resources will make Nova Scotia stronger, more resilient, and more self-reliant. More jobs. Greater investment in our communities. Lower energy prices.

@msSharanKaur How can you believe that Mark Carney's ties with Brookfield is not in any way a COI? One example: do you honestly think that A) The PRC wouldn't leverage Brookfield's $250M loan against Carney B) That he is so wonderfully ethical that he'd pushback against such pressure? Nope

@TimHoustonNS You're an embarrassment. The world knows that wind is a profit machine for wealthy investors and a financial burden to ratepayers. Why are you not working to make life affordable for NSians and attract investment? You're pathetic

More Nova Scotians will soon have an alternative to Nova Scotia Power to purchase electricity. Phase one of Mersey River Wind Project is expected to deliver power to Nova Scotians in early 2027. This is good news for Nova Scotia.

I told you in 2018 that your asylum seeker policy was unsustainable and was costing Ontario healthcare, shelter and education systems hundreds of millions of dollars which you weren’t keen on reimbursing. That said, you’re the Justice Minister now so put the dog whistle away and stick to your own knitting - figuring out how to put violent sex offenders behind bars without reduced bail or sentencing.
Sean Fraser@SeanFraserMP

People fleeing violence, war, and persecution deserve to be treated with compassion, not cruelty. This week’s Conservative proposal to deny health care to some of the world’s most vulnerable is offensive in the extreme.

@TimHoustonNS You effen moron. NSians aren't looking for options of how their electricity is generated, they're looking for lower rates and uninterrupted supply. Find a way to ensure transmission and drastically lower electricity rates for NSian ratepayers, and watch investment increase.

Nova Scotia is becoming a leader in getting energy projects done. Today I joined an announcement to support the Mersey River Wind project. 33 wind turbines will be constructed, creating over 200 jobs while generating enough electricity to power more than 50,000 homes. This will also offer Nova Scotians choice in where they buy their power through the renewable-to-retail program, selling power directly to Nova Scotians. Our provinces continues to build up our renewable energy expertise. Through our Wind West plan and new offshore wind analysis, we’re planning for the long term by building a clean, reliable, interconnected electricity system powered by Nova Scotia wind.
