@hsfootballfan23 The D1 coach calls the 7v7 coach bro………..most high school coaches don’t have the relationship with colleges like the 7v7 coaches do. Prime example: one of my twin boys got a P4 offer from the relationship the coach had with our 7v7 coach. High school coach not involved.

You’re on some weird stuff, but respectfully no division 1 Coach gives a flying F about talking to you about a certain kid and 7v7. I promise you they would rather talk to their head coach and see their film. But continue living in that delusional world bud.

Show the proof then man. I get calls every single day from Division 1 coaches. Not ONCE has any coach ever asked how a 7’s season is going or for “7v7 film”. No one is extending offers because of 7’s. I promise.

@CalvinAych @_CoachFerrari Understandable … for me it still falls on the HC. If a HC “shields” himself he lacks leadership.

@_CoachFerrari I don’t mind this philosophy. I also don’t like how an HC who doesn’t call plays can shield himself from blame by undermining a coordinator. Game management/overall evaluation tends to be easier for an HC who doesn’t call plays and that’s why I wouldn’t do it if I were one.

As a young college coach I thought I was pretty sharp and once asked the HC if I could call a few plays during a blowout (looking back, I’m embarrassed I asked). His response is something I’ve never forgotten: “The one who experiences the consequences should make the decisions.”

I don't even know what this drill is simulating. It seems like they're just working for the sake of working. If you're not working at maximal speed, then you must over-emphasize each key detail and intent of the drill. Anyone who isn't emphasizing exact ENTRY and exact FOOT PLACEMENT is not helping his players get better!! Maximum body contact will always be the #1 variable that increases tackling odds. Most drills should be designed with that in mind.

I just don't understand why we would ever reinforce leaving feet and DIVING at a ball carrier. That is the #1 way the increase your odds of missing a tackle and/or getting injured. Maybe I care too much about the extreme detail it takes to be great.

@CoachRob_Lewis, I’ve seen you on other peoples posts and now you’re contacting our players. This isn’t the way to go about it. If kids are interested in a ‘national travel team’ they will reach out to you. You shouldn’t be reaching out to HS kids. Especially established ones.

AIA needs to give one free transfer. Why are we making HS kids sit if they don’t make them sit at the next level?

Everytime I watch a football game, I try to find situations where height and track speed (recruiters favorite traits) Actually bear a difference on the game or individual plays… So far in this National Championship? NONE.

You aren’t at these tournaments which is why you don’t understand….EVERYONE knows that there CAN be value but there isn’t anymore…All the games end in fights, parents fighting, super expensive, DBs holding every play, defenses playing 2 man the entire game, QBs don’t take drops, offenses don’t run real plays….Yes, there is value when it’s done properly, the point is that it’s not done properly and it’s becoming very dangerous…100% of parents believe they need to play for recruiting and u just said u don’t use it for recruiting….

Those who defend the value(there is none) in Club 7’s are making money somewhere down stream. But with NIL now out of control, the “Underwear Olympics” is another way for marketers/street agents to spin a tale that this nonsense carries any weight at all for gullible parent or parents with their credit/debit cards handy to “help” their kids or brag at their Tuesday night bunko group how little Johnny had 5 touchdowns or dad rolls into work on Monday about how his kid did in a “who cares” space. Of all the money grabs I’ve seen in the youth sports space, Club 7’s and club basketball are easily the biggest money grabs with very little to no return for the athlete or parents. Everyone chasing a bag. Not impressed with any of it…
