cancelled our corporate @OpenAI account today; We were spending ~ $10k a year
@xai is better for real time data
@Gemini is better for travel, local YouTube
& @claudeai is much better for corporate (Cowork and Project features specifically)
ChatGPT isn’t keeping up imo — and I don’t trust them with my corporate data
Long game, but I think ChatGPT is 4th place now

@stevelanza3 It used to be about 30% prior to 2020. Costs have skyrocketed for everything.

@BlakeTOliver I don’t mind the coding agent but the fact they are trying to even move in on the analysis too.. that’s what they sold for years is how we stay ahead… anyone else’s thoughts?

@BlakeTOliver Interesting, it was inevitable! So when do all us accountants just build our own GL system by accountants for accountants. With tools like this only for accountants and not sell out of both side of our market like Intuit.

@BlakeTOliver We always say our tools will add AI to make us better but intuit always try’s to sell it to us and our clients. How about some special tools just for accountants. Intuit is constantly trying to inject in our relationships….

Just got an email that @MosaicMfg is ending the Pallet product to build it into their Printers. So sad to see this as the idea was good. The execution unfortunately was #horrible. The prices mean you are leaving the #DIY and #Maker Space i assume. #RIP Businesses demand quality.

@MikeSyl36625988 They will never think it is optional end of the day boss asked. When I have had similar situations I have offered to share the profits with my team. Makes them stakeholders in an intense overwork period but also allows you to solidify a client relationship.

Question for those of you who run firms.
I am considering something I have never considered before... I have a client that needs a LOT of work done. A lot.
They really want it done fast. I would prefer it be done fast; however, it is a capacity issue.
They are willing to pay more to get it done fast.
I very strongly do not want to work my staff to death. That has always been the case.
I am thinking about doing the following:
Telling all of my staff qualified to do this that I have a special project, and it is OPTIONAL. They can and should say no if they do not want to do it. I will emphasize the crap out of this. Trust me, I will.
Remember, I pay by the hour already. This means they will be paid their normal hourly rate for any hours they work anyway. If they work more than 40 hours a week, they would of course be paid time and a half, as always. And if they commit to working 40 hours MORE than they are scheduled to work the rest of this year on dates and times of their choosing, we would pay them a significant bonus on top of their normal pay.
Note there is so much work most or even maybe all of them could accept this task if they chose to.
I would do everything I can to make sure everyone knows that it is optional, and my staff would believe me on this.
Should I follow this plan? If not, why NOT?
