Meet Breast Cancer Canada Researcher, Dr. Rama Khokha. Scientist Dr. Rama Khokha at @pmcancercentre has devoted her research to molecular cancer prevention. Last year, Breast Cancer Canada witnessed the power of her innovation first-hand. In June, Breast Cancer Canada announced $3 million funding for the 3P Precision Prevention Progress Project, led by Dr. Khokha. Her research focuses on identifying new risk factors and developing screening methods to detect cancer at an earlier stage, and will lead to future prevention strategies for breast cancer patients everywhere. To Know More about Dr. Khokha’s story, please visit breastcancerprogress.ca/know_more_stor… @rmkhokha #KnowMoreStories #MeettheResearcher #breastcancercanada #researchmatters

Excited to share our discovery of an epithelial progenitor population in the human breast! FABP7+ ductal luminal progenitors have distinct and targetable metabolism, and are the projected root of aberrant differentiation in the BRCA1 breast. @rmkhokha 1/9 biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

@aktilaiyan There can be many other factors also, but our life science research should start focusing on clinic outputs. We have tremendous potential, and can have great impact on a very large population but it's still not utilized. People will start recognizing the impact.

@aktilaiyan Yes, that's true, but for example there r hundreds of new molecules that are predicted to have treatment capability coming from studies in India. But most of them just end in a paper and that's it. We should start utilizing them and have a good pipeline from the lab to clinic.

It was indeed a great day for India yesterday. Missions by ISRO always show that science is for masses. BUT, there are a lot more science besides space science. WHY only this gets so much coverage?? Leave media, even common people are not interested if any Indian discovers ....

@aktilaiyan I truly support what you said, but one major issue I see in fields like life science is that the outputs are at many times not directly reaching the common man, be it drugs, devices, or technologies. Majorly due to lack of actual collabs with institutes hospitals and industries.

..by Dr. Rahul Purwar and Dr. Gaurav Narula at TMH Mumbai. Does any common person know?? NO, never even bothered to discuss the news even if seen. Has it got any media coverage?? NEVER to an extent moon and Mars get. It is concerning, at least to me.
