@igordownunder @ryu_tay @PeteWargent I don't think so, actually. It assumes the gain was linear (i.e. the gain is averaged as if it was the same percentage each year). It'll likely force the sale of a strongly appreciating asset soon after the new regime.

grandfathering the 50% discount for existing investments and moving to indexation from set day (July 1st? May 12ve?) is not a bad solution.... thoughts? better than "forever" grandfather. @ryu_tay @TMFScottP @PeteWargent

I've given the government heaps recently (they deserved it) but they're pulling the right directional rein on the NDIS here. They should completely restructure it from scratch - they won't - but this seems to be a move in the right direction (with qualifiers, below) 1/2
