UCSATP Implementation Retreat 2026: The Uganda Climate Smart Agricultural Transformation Project @UCSATP is hosting a 3-day Implementation Retreat from 2nd – 4th January 2026 at Nile Resort Hotel, Kampala. The retreat provides a platform to review implementation progress for the first two quarters, assess performance across all project components, and strengthen coordination among implementing agencies, districts, and development partners. Key focus areas include: • Review of progress against the Project Development Objective and Results Framework • Assessment of achievements, challenges, risks, and bottlenecks • Review of fiduciary, procurement, and environmental and social safeguards • Coordination across climate-smart crop, livestock, fisheries, and infrastructure value chains • Agreement on priority actions and timelines to accelerate project delivery Over the three days, participants will engage in deep technical discussions across value chains (crops, livestock, fisheries, beneficial insects), infrastructure, procurement, finance, safeguards, M&E, and coordination, all aimed at accelerating delivery of climate-smart agricultural outcomes. As highlighted by Hon. @FredBwino, UGX 14 billion is allocated for Buvuma & UGX 10bn for Sango Bay. Full payments have already been made to 301 PAPs across five villages in Buvuma District (Bubembe, Bwaka, Buwanga, Mbekete, Ndayiga), with 1,405 PAPs expected to be paid in total.

It is with a heavy heart that I received the news of the passing of our mother, mentor, and trailblazer for women in leadership, Mama Rhoda Kalema. Through her boldness and determination, she opened the doors of Parliament to women leaders, mentored many notable female leaders, and made tremendous contributions to our legislative process as a member of the Legislature and cabinet over the years. On behalf of @Parliament_Ug and myself, I extend my sincere condolences to H.E. President @KagutaMuseveni, the Kingdom of Buganda, Mama Rhoda's family and friends, and the nation at large during this sad moment. May her memories continue to inspire us to serve our country better, and may her gentle soul rest in eternal peace.

I'm saddened to learn of the death of Hon. Margaret Komuhangi, former Woman MP Nakasongola District. We sat together on the committee of natural resources in the 10th Parliament where she was a star performer. She was also a Chairperson of the Committee on Gender where she left a mark. My condolences go to the family and people of Nakasongola.
