Academic psychologists, how did you consider family planning in terms of your career? Were there especially good or bad times to be pregnant/have a child? What advice would you give to early career scholars who want to plan ahead (as a person, partner, parent, & academic)?

#maternityleave should not require 2 years of strategically banking 160+ vacation hours in order to get paid. The reality of #motherhood in #academia. We’re supposed to be leaders in progressive policy, this is just sad. I will die on this hill. @AcademicMamas @Momademia

Drove 4.5 hours just to have babysitters to watch 2yo so I can cram edits into my first R01... gotta do what you gotta do. 😅 So grateful to my amazing mentors for all the helpful suggestions- the extensive re-writing I am doing is a lesson for future grants! You learn by doing.

An absolute new career highlight: Got to give a lesson on the heart to pre-k kids at my toddler’s classroom. Proud @Momademia moment and real gratitude that I get to share a little bit of what I heart with my daughter.
