As long as I own the truck and it doesn’t get totaled, up. Engine and powertrain warranty. No miles, no set years - lifetime. The woman I first talked to when I called them (first time I had to use it) was so confused lol. She said “we don’t sell lifetime warranties there has to be a year or mileage on it.” I sent her a copy - her manager called me back the next day and said I was good to go, take it into the shop. $100 deductible for a $1,600 repair

@EricSpracklen Overpriced, rates are too high, inflation raging and people getting laid off left and right. Dangerous combination going on in the market right now

In 2016 this house was worth $249,042 and today it is listed at $545,000. Built in 2005, it’s 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, 1927 sqft in a generic Florida neighborhood. It’s been on Zillow for 155 days. QUESTION: Why isn’t it selling? ANSWER: It’s 30-50% overpriced.

The housing market is going to crash and anyone saying otherwise is either a realtor gaslighting you or a property owner unwilling to accept the fact that they couldn’t sell their property at their Zillow “Zestimate” if they tried to. Prices are going to come down massively.

@nobody963963963 @MattEurich I’ve already used it once, just last year. When I called the warranty company they had never heard of a lifetime warranty 😆 so had to pass me around to 3 different people before someone finally called me back and said I was good.

@AceColten @MattEurich It doesn’t have a life time warranty bud. I have a Toyota truck they’re great but not lifetime great. Same story I haven’t so much as replaced the spark plugs 220k miles in. But it’s not under warranty

@DriverHawk @MattEurich I’ve already used it once. And dealership, while it’s done most of the oil changes, hasn’t done them all. And they didn’t even replace the starter. I just used the warranty last year. I might have gotten one of the last ones before they became scams lol

@AceColten @MattEurich Hate to break it to you but that lifetime warranty shit is a scam. If you missed a single dealer recommended service and didn't have everything done at the dealer, they ain't warranting shit for you. Read the fine print

Oh the process is stupid. Not to mention if you don’t plan on keeping it 10+ years, you’ll lose money for sure. The process is designed to wear you out so you agree to their last minute extra fees and also they get you to sign a mound of paperwork - which essentially gives them the right to sell all of your information. Modern vehicles today have other 100 sensors recording EVERYTHING about you - and all of that information is sold (it’s in the fine print). I’ve been told they don’t even care if they make money off the vehicle sale because they make so much money off your information over time.

@MoneyPlatters @MattEurich I realize I am a somewhat rare example - but every situation is different - that’s the point I was trying to make. Depends on each individual person I guess

@JimDuncanRVA @MattEurich Maybe you missed the point of my post? Every situation is different. For many, buying a new car is dumb. For some, it’s a smart move.

@Mr_Galt @MattEurich Damn. I have mostly taken mine to the dealership. I did have one issue with loose/rusted u bolts on the powertrain, but they covered it. Got a $1,600 job done for a $100 deductible

@AceColten @MattEurich I too had the lifetime warranty on a toyota. After 10 years it needed work and my warranty claim was denied since I couldn’t prove I did tire rotations every 10k miles. Costco only keeps those records for 5 years fyi.

They wear you out on purpose so that you just sign all the paperwork at the end and don’t realize you’re giving your entire privacy away to probably over 100 companies that monitor everything from how you adjust your seat to what radio stations you listen to to what gas stations you stop at. All of your information is being sold. It’s in the contract in the fine print.
