Crypto And Politics FAQ 🧵 for non-crypto people "Why have I been seeing crypto in the news lately? Why is BTC price going up?" Because the previous US administration was extremely hostile to crypto, and Trump has been signalling friendliness to it.

A trolley is about to hit 5 people laying on the track You can redirect the car, but the other track has not yet reached regulatory approval or completed its 1 year environmental testing period, so operating a train car on it is a violation of transit regulations What do you do?

Time to say something out loud. The first era of Bankless has concluded. A six year collaboration between David and myself exploring crypto, defi, and maximizing Ethereum. We're in the second era now. In this second era I'm planning to take more of a backseat role supporting @TrustlessState as he explores new frontiers in crypto and beyond. I'll still be the pod every week (would never miss a rollup) but less in the role of content direction and guest interviews. David has the helm. He has my full support. For my part, I'm still bullish ETH. And bullish Bankless.

Has there been a huge vibe shift in CT over the last 2 weeks, or was that just me selling the last of my ETH

The maxim of Hateful Schrödinger Canadians: Canadians: F**k off to the US. We hate you. You are a far-right @elonmusk buddy. We don't need you. After hearing this for years, I said "OK. I'm off." Same Canadians: You piece of s**t. You are deserting us for the US. You are a traitor.

I like this because it's both: - Hey, look, he's being leisurely, he's not really doing very much... - ...but also yeah, he gets paid to make a small number of *incredibly impactful* decisions. If you have any sense, you would be *terrified* to be in his shoes. Idiots who resent people in high-powered positions like this: you envy him for his leisure time and his luxury, but *you* would not make good decisions. You would screw it up. You would run that company into the ground and many many people would suffer as a result.

Jeff Bezos reveals why he refuses to make a single important decision before 10am: "I like to putter in the morning. I like to read the newspaper. I like to have coffee. I like to have breakfast with my kids before they go to school. My puttering time is very important to me. That's why I set my first meeting at 10 o'clock" "I like to do my high IQ meetings before lunch. Anything that's going to be really mentally challenging, that's a 10 o'clock meeting. Because by 5pm, I'm like, I can't think about that today. Let's try this again tomorrow at 10am" "As a senior executive, what do you really get paid to do? You get paid to make a small number of high quality decisions. If I make three good decisions a day, that's enough. Warren Buffett says he's good if he makes three good decisions a year"

@sloeginpsyop @reddit_lies Agreed, but at least that's a local community of people who know him personally and can evaluate him based on ongoing face-to-face contact (unlike a government bureaucracy). Hopefully they can exert some social pressure on him to start contributing... or stop letting him mooch.

So his “money saving hack” is to begrudgingly attend church and then mooch off of the good will of the people there. The entire system works in that you: 1. Join the church 2. Tithe to church and community 3. Bring some skill of your own to the table as well It doesn’t surprise me though that when actual community driven socialism is in play they just turn into moochers.

@cnakazawa I thought the idea was specifically just that each one comes with the little summary at the top, so that the LLM doesn't bother loading it unless necessary. Saves context space. Like... it's just that one idea, which seems sensible to me. Apart from that, yes, it's just docs.

I really don't get the hype about skills. They are just docs. Just write docs and ship them inside your packages.

This is worth repeating: I never cared that you were gay until you started shoving it down my throat, and I never cared what color you were until you started blaming me for your problems. I never cared about your political affiliation until you started condemning me for mine. I really never even cared where you were born until you wanted to erase my history and blame my ancestors for your problems. I never even cared if your beliefs were different from mine until you said my beliefs were wrong. But now I care. My patience and tolerance are gone, and I am not alone in feeling like this. There are millions of us who feel like this.

No need to go rambling on with your reply. Quite simply: the “97% of scientists” stat is a hoax. They sent out a questionnaire and when they got it back, they isolated the 10% who had the “right” answer. Then, they sent another questionnaire to that 10%. The “all scientists” are 97% of that 10%. Also, there were plenty of people on that list who weren’t even scientists. They were activists and liberal arts teachers etc. Pretty much everything we are taught in school is horse shit. x.com/PhilosophyOfPh…

@Enixeos @xwanyex That's a good point - if I already believed for *other* reasons that God existed, I wouldn't have such high priors against believing people's reports of miracles.

@AdamSpitz @xwanyex The crux is its either "nothing created everything" or God exists. If God created everything, then healing the blind and the resurrection seems small in comparison. Much more significant is that God would love us so much that he became a man to lay down his life in our place.

I come across SO many people. They're in my inner circle, semi-inner circle, outer circle, at the gym, fellow parents, people who text the show - I've never had one interaction, let alone conversation (not one - not this year, not last year, not at thousands of Ajax doors), where someone even mildly opined "Canada should join the European Union". Not the most sane person, not the most loony person, not the person that is indifferent to Trump, not the person who despises Trump & can't focus on a single other important thing. I've not had one 10 second convo w/ anyone about Canada joining the EU. So I have no idea who these people are.....deadly serious.

@AlecMuffett @esteussy @pmarca Look, I'm serious about this. I'm angry at the people who are building these things, and at people who are being cavalier about the risks, because I think they're going to end up killing me and my wife and children and also everybody else. Maybe I'm wrong. I hope I am.
