Israel is interested in a wide-scale attacks on Iran’s energy facilities and supports the recent 48-hour ultimatum issued by U.S. President Donald J. Trump, according to the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation.

Day 21. Steady pattern of launches continues

Couldn’t that be expected after the 🇮🇱🇺🇸 strike on the 🇮🇷 LNG facilities based on the same giant gas field? Mutual reinforcing stupidity at a very high cost for everyone.

I suggest lowering expectations. Iran is unlikely to open any strategic waterways. The administration will have to decide whether it aligns with Israel on expanding the scope of the strikes or seeks to restrain further escalation. The core issue is the underlying assumption that pressure inside Iran would automatically trigger a move like opening the strait. this reflects yet again a persistent misunderstanding in the administration how Iran thinks, what drives its decision-making, and how it calibrates risk. #IranIsraelWar

Israeli sources describe the attack on the Iranian gas field as a coordinated warning signal to the Islamic Republic's meant to make clear that if Iran keeps destabilizing the global economy through Hormuz, it will be hit where it gets most, if not all, of its income: the energy sector. They say this is only a first signal. If Tehran doesn’t get the message, more escalation will follow.
