@ProudMacLeod67 @338Canada You're wrong. Clinton had a 70% chance according to 538
English

@338Canada Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t Clinton have similar odds of winning?

My latest: Free trade with our friends, absolutely. With our enemies? Not so much
theglobeandmail.com/opinion/articl…
English

@mileslunn @globeandmail It is a waste of money. Ford should have followed through when he was first elected and voided the deal through legislation, not paying the brewers a dime.
English

Opinion: Ontario blowing $225-million to cancel its Beer Store contract is a scandal, not something to celebrate /via @globeandmail theglobeandmail.com/opinion/articl… Agreed, should have waited until January 1, 2026 or maybe could have negotiated with Beer Store to end a month
English

@SyntheticusAlt I completely agree. If you're old enough to have an interest in voting, you should be allowed to. I'm 100% certain there are 10 year olds with a better understanding of the issues than many adults.
English

@SyntheticusAlt I mean it's poison, and like most poisons, small amounts have little to no ill effects. Your body completely heals from one cigarette in about a month.
English

@TheSpiralPro @SyntheticusAlt "The places where people actually live are exceptions" lol
English

@SyntheticusAlt Vancouver and Toronto are exceptions tbh. Same with Calgary and whatnot. While, yes, Canada has pockets that are very diverse, the country as a whole is still extremely white.
English

@TheSpiralPro @SyntheticusAlt Sure, but we have way more Asians. Neither country is overwhelmingly white
English

@SyntheticusAlt Yeah I don’t disagree. I was about to say, Canada’s diversity is pretty comparable to the US. Though, the US also has way more black people and Hispanics than us lol.
English

@cselley It's fascinating how many people will rail against any kind of moderate reforms as Americanization and demonize Americans at every turn, only to adopt an American understanding of the Constitution and reject the Westminster concept of Parliamentary supremacy.

Ravens WBB is 10 minutes away from their Semifinal match against Queen's 🏀
Keep up with all the action 👇

@lcibiarque @SyntheticusAlt So you think someone else should be doing it? People that go to school solely to learn how to kill people who ask for it that aren't called doctors? Maybe undertakers could start doing it?
English

@The_Maple_Crown I feel like they just wouldn't respond and wouldn't care that their double standard was exposed. I mean they didn't care when journalists and political scientists pointed out it was blatantly illegal, I can't see them caring about being called out for double standards.
English

@AddleyMa But, henceforth, any other provincial gov't can point to QC & say, "they did it". How could the federal gov't respond without exposing a glaring double-standard? It's 100% true.
Hopefully, a not-too-distant-future federal ministry will have the temerity to do something about it.
English

Not only was that move by the QC legislature un-Canadian—rejecting the foundation of Confederation & the source of QC parliamentarians’ authority (not “the people of QC”)—it set a precedent for QC & any other province to ignore or change the constitution as it pleases.
Chris Selley@cselley
I mean, honestly, Quebec just unilaterally rewrote the 1867 Constitution Act to free MNAs from the burden of swearing allegiance to the monarch. It can't do that. But it did. It's done. Because no one objected. So piss off, frankly, with this "rule of law for all" BS.
English

@IanCookalberta @acoyne If you only care about your own freedom and not that of others then you don't really care about freedom.
English

Unless — hear me out — unless — just spitballing here — unless the Tories do something unthinkably stupid like, I don’t know, vote against a Canada-Ukraine trade deal for no plausible reason, leaving everyone to wonder what their real reason was.
Marc Lévesque@MarcLevesqueEco
So, it increasingly looks like the Liberals’ strategy to reverse their declining support is to accuse the Conservatives of importing MAGA Trumpism into Canada and supporting Vladimir Putin. It won’t work. It may even make matters worse.
English

@IanCookalberta @acoyne Dude with "Freedom fighter" in his name: spending money defending freedom is a waste of money.
Ok then.
English

@acoyne Canadians are done with the Ukraine proxy war. Too much money and too many lives wasted for nothing.
English

@mundanemun @jamesbezan Peace can only come through defeat of Russia. If Russia is not totally defeated, war will just go on for longer.
English

@jamesbezan Canada should not do "munitions", they should broker peace.
English

@CanadaRedPills @argueswithbots @jamesbezan No it's not. There are no NDP members in the executive branch at all
English

@argueswithbots @jamesbezan In effect, it's a coalition.
English

@MarcLevesqueEco @sargeant_rowan It's never worked before because it's never been true before. This time it is, and so it might work.
