An absolute honour to meet @MayorofLondon Mr. Sadiq Khan and learn from his perspective on leadership, resilience and the responsibility of running a world-class city. Watching my father, @imrankehwah sb, serve as Deputy Mayor of Srinagar with quiet dedication, long before most even recognised the office, has taught me that real leadership is not noise but vision sustained under pressure. That conversation has reignited a belief within me: Srinagar too can rise. Srinagar too can shine. Because London is not merely a city, it is a statement. A global powerhouse built on institutions, continuity, discipline and relentless execution. Respect to Hon’ble Mayor (@SadiqKhan) for stewarding one of the world’s greatest capitals with clarity, resilience and political vision. From Srinagar to London: the aspiration remains the same: build cities that make their people proud.

354 NEET-PG seats, and merit is being strangled in broad daylight. Only 136 seats for Open Merit in all of J&K, while 218 are loaded into a lopsided reservation matrix. This isn’t governance. It’s a calculated assault on merit. @OmarAbdullah, during the Budgam elections you kept chanting “report bas aarhi hai.” So what was that — a scripted line to fool voters? One full year later, the CSC report has vanished without a trace. Our OM students are breaking down, fighting despair and injustice every single day. And we stand with them. Peaceful protest is our right, and if pushed, we will use it. We won’t watch silently while an entire generation is thrown under the bus.

From Welfare to Neglect: The Urgent Need to Redefine Power Policy in Jammu & Kashmir. Imtiyaz R. Chashti In Jammu & Kashmir, electricity must no longer be viewed through the narrow lens of commercial consumption or revenue generation. It must be recognised as a critical public utility directly linked to human survival, public health, economic continuity, and social justice. When traditional state support systems such as timber, coal, firewood, and kerosene have been systematically withdrawn, electricity has become the sole remaining lifeline for millions facing unforgiving winters. To charge exorbitant tariffs or subject people to prolonged outages in such conditions is not just poor governance, it is a failure of moral responsibility. A region blessed with enormous hydropower potential should not be reduced to energy insecurity, especially when its own natural resources are generating power that is exported elsewhere. The power policy in Jammu & Kashmir must therefore transition from a profit-oriented framework to a welfare-driven model that accounts for geography, climate vulnerability, and historical context. Winter power subsidies, priority domestic supply, investment in local hydropower infrastructure, and restoration of region-sensitive welfare measures are not concessions, they are obligations of a responsible state. Electricity here is not about convenience; it is about preserving life, protecting dignity, sustaining livelihoods, and ensuring that no household is forced to choose between warmth and survival. In a territory where winter dictates the rhythm of life, denying affordable and reliable electricity is equivalent to denying the right to live with dignity. @JKPCOfficial

RTO Kashmir has suddenly blocked e-rickshaws from Moulana Azad Road and Residency Road. This isn’t just a route change. It hits thousands of commuters who rely on them every day, and it pushes hardworking drivers — many already burdened with loans — to the edge. @RTOKashmir @SSPTFCSGR please rethink this order and offer a practical alternative. Public convenience and livelihoods both deserve better. @vishesh_jk @Traffic_hqrs @igtraffic_jk @SrinagarPolice @KashmirPolice @JmuKmrPolice @ddprsrinagar @srinagaradmin @JKSamadhan

Omar Abdullah’s Fear Exposes His Own Failure. Omar Abdullah’s statement is a confession of his own failures. If a sitting Chief Minister says he fears driving a J&K car in Delhi, then what dignity or protection did he ever guarantee to ordinary Kashmiris? His party spent decades normalising the political degradation of J&K—from having a full Prime Minister to being reduced to a “half CM.” They accepted every compromise while Kashmiris paid the price. Now he plays the victim instead of answering why he never challenged the profiling and humiliation of his own people. If even the CM isn’t safe, it only proves who truly failed Kashmiris: Omar himself.

To elaborate — about Janab-e-Party Hopper-Dy CM — infamous for audio leaks, corruption trails and serial party hopping — seems to have mistaken authority for immunity and silence for statesmanship. But leadership isn’t built on bluster; it’s earned through humility and accountability. Power without conscience breeds chaos — and dignity without honesty is just performance politics.

Heartfelt appreciation to the young and talented journalists @bilalbashirbhat Khursheed Qureshi, Rameez Maqdoomi, Aijaz War, Farzana Mumtaz, and others for organising a graceful and meaningful event on the 2nd death anniversary of Ghulam Nabi Khayal, the legendary poet, writer, and intellectual of Kashmir. This gathering was not merely a commemoration, but a sincere tribute to Khayal Sahib’s rich literary legacy, a celebration of his fearless voice, creative brilliance, and unwavering commitment to truth and expression. Your thoughtful effort rekindles the essence of his pen and preserves the fragrance of his thought for generations to come. May the spirit of Khayal Sahib continue to inspire the lovers of literature, freedom, and intellect.

To my brothers & sisters in #Ladakh, your concerns & aspirations are understood, & I have no doubt they will find a way forward. The people of Ladakh have always been known for their discipline, unity & non-violent nature, and that spirit must continue to guide this movement. Violence will only weaken a just cause and silence the very voice you want heard. The real strength lies in patience, dialogue and peaceful struggle, it may be a longer road, but it is the only one that ensures dignity, justice and lasting respect.

Ladakh has always stood for peace, harmony and brotherhood — its people are among the most tolerant, which is why so many Kashmiris live & work there without fear! But! My dear Ladakhi brothers & sisters violence is not the way forward! Your real strength lies in unity, patience and peaceful struggle — that alone will bring justice & lasting respect!
Sheikh Imran@imrankehwah

My dear Ladakhis — violence has only weakened our cause and handed victories to our enemies. It robs us of justice, dignity and the very future we seek. But peaceful struggle is not weakness — it is our greatest strength, rooted in the spirit of democracy and its promise of justice for all. Though the path of peace may be long, it preserves our honour, strengthens our voice, and compels the nation to listen. Together, with patience, unity and dignity, Ladakh will rise — not through violence, but through peace.
