Pretty revolutionary

@AdjustedForPace @thecomposerdude @pointmadebball The modern game is complex in a different way and there are numerous reasons for that: more capable long range shooters, emphasis on spacing, rule enforcement, off ball physical play, analytics/diminish value of moving/existing iside the 3pt line and outside of the paint...

@AdjustedForPace @bomberjacket5 @pointmadebball There’s also never been this much off ball sets being run with multiple read and react options and built in counters that are PURPOSEFULLY taught and practiced. No HS teams back in 2000s were running ghost screens + Spain pnr + curls/flares/floppy/handoff options simultaneously

@bomberjacket5 @pointmadebball Because defenses are much smarter now about guarding half court sets, they can easily read and completely set up because of how much film they watch. So now offenses run actions or double actions and cause disruption and rotations in defenses. Sometimes simple is better

Tatum. He's great but so many poor shooting performances in the playoffs along with being so reliant on the 3pt shot instead of using his size to his advantage really dismantles how good he can really be.
