Early morning demolitions in Saraipalya, North Bengaluru. The demolition drive carried out by the BDA has left residents devastated. Families woke up to JCBs, Not notices. Locals say no prior notice was served. Homes were torn down at dawn, tenants were suddenly displaced, and household belongings were thrown out onto the streets. Children were left without food or even milk, families left scrambling with nowhere to go. Is this what lawful eviction looks like? Even if action was required, shouldn’t the government have handled it with basic humanity and empathy instead of turning people’s lives upside down overnight? I don't understand the problem people have with constitution. And these same people have not ever been able to present another form of a written structural law that they claim should be used in place of constitution. They only like to confuse you.

Let’s be clear: the idea of religion being above the Constitution was settled long ago. The Constitution accommodates personal laws, including Muslim personal law—but criminal law, as the law of the land, prevails. Mufti Shamail’s position is fundamentally no different from the RSS idea of a Hindu Rashtra. He should withdraw his statement and apologise for it.

No we're not racist. Here's what: I love Zomato and Phonepe apps, which are built by Indian founders, and I have them on my phone, but I don't want #SancharSaathi . I chose those apps. I should have the option of choosing which apps I want and which I don't. I trust Zomato and Phonepe. Zomato and Phonepe have earned my trust. When Zomato got hacked a decade ago, they owned up to it. I trusted Paytm once. I don't anymore. That's the way it is. I do not trust a government that is constantly forcing me to give up my data, get Aadhaar for my baby, link it to an Apaar ID, makes disingenuous arguments, lies about aadhaar data leakage (remember Rachna Khaira's story in the Tribune?). That is why I don't want a government or government backed app permanently on my personal device. It's why I don't want digiyatra, ondc, bhim, aarogya setu, digilocker, sanchar saathi (as much as I respect Amit Ranjan who built digilocker). The government has earned my distrust.
