I schooled in Onitsha High School, Onitsha. One morning, the principal Mrs Julie Ofoefuna informed us that Mr Peter Obi was coming to our school because the Senior Prefect called him and reported that the school building was at the verge of collapse which was true. We thought it was a joke because my school was one of the local schools then, we said” the governor has not finished visiting CKC, DMGS, St Charles, QRC”etc these are best schools then.
By 12:00pm that day, he landed with Dr Kay Onyechi the state commissioner of basic education, he inspected the school. He said he will return after two weeks. Two weeks passed we didn’t see him, we took his words as normal Nigeria politicians 😭😭😂.On the third week which was school closing period, he landed. He came like a thief, no motorcades or sirens blowing ” he apologized for coming after two weeks, he said when he learnt that the school was in exam period, he decided to wait but to come after exam. In the end, he gave more than enough for the school renovation. He asked us what we wanted for lunch, nobody could mention any reasonable food. He gave each student ₦100 for snacks.

As a governor of Anambra, every senior prefect in the state had a direct contact with Governor Peter Obi. Why? He wanted them to report what was wrong in their schools directly to him, if you call him, he would personally come and check it out. The man’s humility and simplicity is not performative. It’s really somehow that over a decade later he comes out to contest elections in the country and you’re seeing videos of him carrying his bags like he has always done and you’re calling it “performative and theatrics”. He’s not even doing it for you to applaud him. Baba is just being him.

“I don’t understand why women don’t just report it if it really happened.”
When I was 19, I reported mine. I had bruises. Hospital photos. Text messages of him apologizing the next morning. My friends drove me to the station because I could barely stop shaking. I thought evidence would make it simple. I thought truth would be enough.
Months later, I was the one on trial. His lawyer printed my Instagram photos and held them up in court. Asked why I wore crop tops. Asked why I drank that night. Asked why I didn’t scream louder. He replayed my police interview and pointed out every time I hesitated, every time I cried, every time my timeline wasn’t perfectly linear. “If it was traumatic,” he said, “why can’t she remember clearly?”
Sitting there while strangers debated my pain like it was a group project felt like being stripped again. My messages were projected on a screen. My body was described in detail. My character was picked apart like that was the real crime.
He walked out on bail. I walked out with panic attacks.
That’s why some women don’t report. Because even with bruises. Even with screenshots. Even when you do everything “right.” You still have to survive the assault twice, once in private, and once in public, just to maybe be believed.

An unpopular opinion though.
People don’t really prefer male bosses, they just understand them better.
Also we’ve spent years normalizing male authority, so when a man is firm, nobody reads meaning into it. But let a woman do the same thing, and suddenly it’s termed “attitude” or “doing too much.” The same behaviour but different interpretation.
So it’s not really preference, it’s just conditioning. People are comfortable with what they’ve been taught not to question.

Again and again, we see that the reason many men are triggered when women talk about rape is that, given the opportunity, they absolutely would rape a woman.

Many girls have reportedly been r@p£d and m0l£sted by men in Ozoro during what is being described as a “r@p!ng festival” in the area. According to multiple reports and videos circulating online, today is said to be the day of this festival in the Ozoro community, and girls are wvrned not to go outside. It is alleged that any girl seen outside could be att@ck£d and r@p£d by groups of men. Foreigners who are unaware of this situation have reportedly fallen v!ctim as well. There is Delta state university in Ozoro, and many female students may not be fully aware of the d@nger. It is distvrbing that something like this could be tolerated in society. This is heartbreaking, and urgent action needs to be taken.

That video Salem King made about how he feels like fighting whenever people see him and his wife and address her as “Mrs Salem” feels very performative. You are a public figure,not everyone knows your wife by her name. If I walk up to greet you and also greet your wife by saying, “Good day, Mrs Salem,” I don’t think I have done anything wrong. Me: “Good afternoon,Mr Salem” Me: *turns to the wife* “Sorry,what’s your name?” E make sense?

Two major reasons: 1. We do it out of obedience. We submit to the wisdom and rulership of God through His word, and in the word we are instructed to gather regularly, under the spiritual leadership and guidance of pastors. Hebrews 10:25 God instructed it, therefore we obey. 2. We do it because we are passionate about God, and we derive joy being in the company of other believers, worshipping God together. A good example is football. UK residents will tell you that times are hard, but every week we see stadiums packed with fans who gather to enjoy their passion for their football clubs together, when they can just watch it at home on their TVs.

You see how people who are shouting against Misandry are quiet about Rape?
We see the consistent wickedness of men against women in our environment but hey, let us keep arguing about “feminism being anti-christ.
When misogyny and the erasure of women is normalised, feminism is seen as offensive. May God give us all wisdom.
There is a reason I excuse myself from these twitter arguments or choose to speak on them much later after both sides have calmed down.
The truth is this—Evil against women BY MEN has been normalised in our society. It’s so casual that it is joked about. We see it in families, the environment, the CHURCH (which annoys me the most), and in governance.
We were all here when we Akpabio, the shameless and dim-witted Senate President made silly remarks and disrespected his colleague, Senator Natasha and nothing was done about it.
You wonder why everything looks like a gender war, it’s because women are having to fight to simply exist in this world. Everyday is a struggle to live and breathe. Many have altered their lives just to cope. It’s sad! It’s painful! It ought not to be!
