I'd argue that if they did go all exclusive with what they own they'd be able to move systems. Probably annoy people but what could they do? Sony and Nintendo aren't what they used to be.

DOOM 3. You know a series is incredible when the black sheep of the franchise is this good. - Impeccable art/character design - Graphical fidelity that still impresses - Dark survival horror spin on DOOM - Exclusive to Xbox/PC for a generation - Last DOOM with John Carmack This game terrified me as a kid. I first bought it for PC, but it was too intense for my computer to handle. Went back and got the steel book OG Xbox version that came with ports of the first two games and never looked back.

@Gaming_bo3gg I traded in my Series S with the idea of some of these games coming to Switch 2. The moment they raised the price 3 times and the idea of a $1,5k dollar Console PC thing stopped any chances of me going back. Put Halo, Gears,Doom, Wolfenstein, CoD Perfect Dark &Fallout on Switch2

@No_dice_soldier @Gaming_bo3gg I feel this gen is a wash. But I do think if they bring another system out going this exclusive could help them move consoles big time. There in a position that they need to find something to move consoles if they really move forwards with another machine.

@Gaming_bo3gg The only problem is Crash, Spyro, Banjo etc is that they are family-friendly platformers and they sell astronomically better on Nintendo and PlayStation hardware than they do on Xbox. Forcing them to be exclusive would kill their retail sales potential.

@mrgoodnighthd @Gaming_bo3gg In all honesty, the Xbox App is still Xbox. Yeah there also on Steam but if they choose to leave Steam too they can still be on Windows and be exclusive to their own ecosystem.

Question: If PlayStation goes all digital and the only way you can buy games is through their closed storefront/ecosystem... wouldn't it just make sense for gamers to seriously consider Steam at that point since it has much better customer service and support?

EA has confirmed that Need for Speed is on hold for the foreseeable future. Criterion Games, the studio behind Need for Speed Unbound, is now fully focused on the Battlefield franchise. Rebecka Coutaz, Vice President and General Manager of Battlefield Studios Europe, made it clear that the team’s priority is Battlefield, saying they are “solely focused on Battlefield” rather than looking back at past projects. As a result, there is currently no new Need for Speed game in development at Criterion. EA has not cancelled the franchise but has not announced any plans for its return.
