@godoflirizm @PamelaIsCrying @yurodivys 20 millions only? That's nothing! I will give 100 millions from my own pocket. If you believe that a historian can give 20 milllions, you can believe anything.

the 1923 population exchange between Greece and Turkey relocated 1.5 million people by religion, not ethnicity, so Greek-speaking Muslims went to Turkey and Turkish-speaking Christians went to Greece. nobody has fully processed this

The new turkish narrative of framing every Greek city within their country as Roman (meaning non Greek) is as pathetic as it is ahistorical. The vast majority of these cities were founded prior to the Roman period, during Bronze Age, Archaic, Classical and Hellenistic times by GREEKS. For example Byzantium (later Constantinople) was founded in 657 BCE by the legendary Greek Byzas of Megara. The city was an important trade node controlling trade to and from the Black Sea and was controlled by the Athenian Maritime Empire during Classical times, while later by Hellenistic Kingdoms. Secondly, the term Roman by no means denotes non- Greek after one point. Greek culture was a main pillar of the civilization of the Roman Empire which is called GRECO-ROMAN by historians and the Greek language was the lingua franca and co-official language of the Empire. Greeks became Roman citizens (i.e. Romans) from fairly early on and after the split and demise of the Western Empire continued the Roman State and GREEK cultural traditions for over a thousand years through the Eastern Roman (Byzantine) Empire. On the contrary for the most part of its history, the Ottoman state refrained from the use of the term turkish and turk, which was considered something of an insult to many... Sultans also claimed (falsely) they were Roman Emperors along with being Khalifs. The Ottoman language is a mix of primarily Persian and Arabic with only certain turkic elements that cannot be read or understood by modern turks. Yet turks have the audacity to question the Greek historical continuity and heritage...

You'll hear Serbians and Greeks saying things like 'Albanians are "traitors" because they bent their knee to the Ottomans and became Muslim'. What these hypocrites won't say is how they killed countless of Orthodox Albanian priests, just because they dared to preach in Albanian.

@kemalistviego @Stavros_D_S They did, in a more emphatic way than I would call a guy, throwing trash out of his car window, as a graeculus. It simply meant the old uneducated ways. The nomads, the ones even today you cannot differentiate from gypsies. Not that the caller is superior, but he feels like it.

@Stavros_D_S They didn't use Turk as an insult. How could a state insult Turks then get known as the Turkish Empire globally and use Turkish in everything? The insults as in the name of Turk were towards nomads because they were flocking sides and escaping tax.

@Stavros_D_S Modern Greeks can’t even understand the context of a sentence in ancient Greek. Yet this Balkan mix ”Hellenic” people think they are their culture continues the legacy of Aristoteles, Sparta, etc. Ottoman is just old Turkish with heavy use of Arabic and Persian words.

@2000ruhuyolunda Oh my God! Greeks are wild animals, they are tough as nails and will kill thousands of Turks if the Turks try to invade their lands. Turks should never challenge them and try to steal from them. Greek are ferocious lunatics. Stay away from them.

You were just invented by British in the 1800s to fight the Ottomans. You people are Albanian, Assyrian, Jew and Hindu. Greek gypsies have been pawns of imperialism for 150 years. And now... Greece is aligning with Israel, India and UAE.

@Agoragemon @ozzie8811 Since you're so into Turkish history, add more facts: Under Ottoman rule, minorities protected their religions without assimilation. In 1922, we drove invaders into the sea. And in 2016, the Turkish nation stopped a coup because they believe in democracy.

"Greece" was just an invention of British in the 1800s. they basically created the fake "Greek" identity with locally recruited Assyrians, Armenians, Chaldeans and Syriacs etc to use as slaves to fight Ottoman. No Turk should be visiting this country until it's Turkish again!

@Agoragemon @ozzie8811 Turks buy property everywhere, it's just investment. Turkey's dynamic economy relies on production, not EU funds. We have a democratically elected leader, while Greece's history is full of military juntas. Boutique wealth isn't real power.

@mastermindtr77 @ozzie8811 It is true that we are only 50% richer per capita. But the inequality is unbearable for the common Turk and the dictatorship is equally unbearable for the richer Turks. Hence, on X they write BS but in reality they buy houses in Greece.
