Many of us bombarded with American propaganda think China excessively subsidizes its manufacturers. India doesn't. Should look at lndia's covert & overt #subsidies that include: Import duties + PLI doleout+Cost of complying with NTBs eg #QCOs. No real R&D by #IndiaINc @Psm_cuts

Tariff man Trump can learn from lndia's #steel lobby (with active support from #BIS) how to block competitively priced #imports and trouble downstream industries, #auto #Infrastructure #Realestate @ajaydgft @shaunakrungta share.google/AZibjexdBBlUv1…

American purchase of Russian merchandise doesn't help fund Russia's war against #Ukraine️. The European purchase of Russian gas also doesn't help finance Russia's war against Ukraine. But lndia's purchase of #RussianOil helps fund Russia's war against Ukraine. No @RealPNavarro ?

China, wary of India's intentions, has retaliated with targeted export curbs on rare earth magnets and other critical inputs - measures that appear less like isolated trade adjustments than calculated pushback against India's Western tilt and its hightech manufacturing ambitions.

By positioning itself too aggressively as an anti-China force, #India has placed itself squarely at the forefront of the US-led strategic contest, exposing New Delhi to mounting pressure from both sides. #TrumpTariffs #Trump #Diplomacy #China #Russia asia.nikkei.com/opinion/overse…

This is half baked analysis by @finshots. "No Tax Breaks for Outsourcing" Act (removal of Trump-era GILTI preferential rates) would rather encourage GCC expansion in India (26%) by improving its relative attractiveness versus low-tax countries like Ireland (12.5%) Singapore (17%)

If there's a domestic supplier of the import competing products, an increase in US #import #tariffs will induce local producers to raise prices...that will hurt US #consumers. #Economics101 #TariffsOnIndia
Ritesh Kumar Singh@RiteshEconomist

@Robert00111 @atrupar What if the exporters' margin is less than the tariff imposed by US. Then either the importer has to bear most of the tariff or the exporter will say goodbye. With the number of suppliers going down, export prices will go up and the US consumers will face increased prices. #Trump

Several major automakers, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Hyundai Motor India Ltd.
