Nufarm has doubled their underlying net profit in the first half of 21/22. Meanwhile Incitec Pivot announces record breaking profit of 384 million (up 10 fold) in the same half year. But hey the price rises to farm crop protection have all been caused by lack of product/supply.

@agronomistag @Glenn_SoilAgro You don’t need research to sell either product. If i have a client asking for independent trial results i will just move on to their neighbour. “It’s only $10/ha works most times” combine that with a loss they can’t see or measure and it stokes a fair bit of fear spending

Does anyone know of research comparing the effectiveness and ROI for N fertilizer stabilizers vs. inoculant N products like Pivot Bio, "biofertilizers"? My searches are clogged with redundant reviews of biofertlilizers and microbial inoculants.

@Oscarthefarmer @farmersgrowit How many chemicals does the APVMA need to review/cancel/restrict before you fellas march. It’s always around the same a suite of new agency products hit the market. Completely unrelated though

New restrictions proposed for Paraquat use. Max of 800 mls and 14 days before harvest. Will mean more resistance weeds and crops looking like this! Talk to your industry reps

@MattMcDonald013 There still seem to be plenty in the industry who believe drift management practices aren’t applicable to them. 😬 Everyone needs to learn there is a legislated obligation to prevent product movement beyond your boundary. Loss of actives will be swift if we don’t.

This may be the definition of both a supremely optimistic, but poorly targeted X advert. It's a nice thought though, @Bayer4Crops 🌧 🏜

Anyone else had a gutsful with RRN numbers Syngenta are requesting to sell Reflex. Any other company would just adjust their label with the APVMA to reflect the increased recropping periods. Not force the customer and retailer to do the work to cover their arse! #justsellterrain

@gsandral @brill_ag @ipaddockapps @todd_venning @Tedthekelpie Agree, however this trial had a solid fungicide program. Diamond without this would have been yuk. We observed this commercially. Many angles to think of when selecting a variety. In summary though, $40/kg plus for canola seed is hard to swallow imo.

Bugger paying $58/kg for something that yields the same as #outlaw This IBC would be "worth" $37,000. Don't mind seeding this hyper yielding OP variety at 6kgha so we can push the friendship on these dry seeding conditions

@4FarmersBill Bill I think you will find that farmers who bought early will have price protection on those early purchases. Very rarely are farmers “stitched up” by suppliers, quite the opposite IMO

On the arbitrarily strange Sakura rate of 118g/Ha (119g is too much and 117g not enough?): what do you do?

Anyone stuck with fertiliser stock better push it onto the clients this week. China just announced Phosphate export policy. Urea export policy to be announced soon. Best to use “supply is going to be short” rather than “price is going up”. For me more tips follow me on the tok

@CropDoctor54 @mickswarb @WeedSmartAU @GRDCSouth @FMCANZ Bixlozone whilst new has a sister herbicide.Clomazone has been studied a lot for its drift properties. In notill instances they have found 43% less chemical in the soil than conventional systems. (Mills,Witt,Barrett). It behaves different with straw than in lab where VP is tested

@mickswarb @WeedSmartAU @GRDCSouth @FMCANZ It depends on what you’re talking about. The Volatility Index of OW is nowhere near that of trifluralin or triallate. To physically get somewhere else, OW requires drift - and that only occurs out of the nozzle, due to weather conditions & poor application. 👍

Currently attending a FMC Spray Workshop. The video I took below really shows the effect of going from a tank mix with wetter, to a tank mix with On Coarse - an anti drift adjuvant. Zoom in for the best view. A huge improvement for growers to help keep their chem in the paddock!

Say an upcoming dry spell is a make-or-break deal for a crop. This stuff (temporarily?) reduces transpiration to preserve soil moisture. Aside from the insane water rate needed (500-1000L/ha), is this principle at all feasible in the broadacre scene?

@agrobaz @congreve_mark @robbert115 Paraquat trial over here got done a few years back comparing 8 or so brands by a independent consultant group, let's just say paraquat ain't paraquat, and differences were huge, between 90% to 40% kill. Kept branding anonymous though.

Most effective wetter for paraquat appears to be generic BS1000-like adding extra punch against resistance. Photos 👇👇 - same paraquat rate (500g ai/ha) of a paraquat 250 applied to resistant ARG comparing: no wetter, Wetter1000, Hasten, Uptake and Pro700. 4 reps, 2 populations.

Any chemical factories burn down or any 20 year old actives happen to be short this year? With prices in most chemicals coming down I need some new content to justify my high margins. The 300 series ain’t cheap!
