We've just been informed of the abduction of @NinyeTabz from Kamwokya a short while ago. He has been whisked away in a drone. The lawlessness continues!

. @mkituuma "In our initial statement, there was an unintended misrepresentation suggesting that the incident had not occurred. This resulted from a communication gap in the preliminary information received from Kiwatule Police Station. We regret this shortfall and wish to provide the correct position.
The incident was duly reported at Kiwatule Police Station under Kira Road Division, and investigations were subsequently initiated under CRB 064/2026.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:30 PM in Kazinga Zone, Kiwatule Parish, Nakawa Division, Kampala City.
Preliminary findings indicate that a client searching for rental property online through Jiji Uganda got in contact with Lubega Fahad (30), who allegedly presented himself as a property agent. After inspecting premises in Kyanja and agreeing on rental terms of UGX 3 million per month, the client was reportedly instructed to deposit UGX 12 million, covering three months’ rent and a security deposit, into a DTB bank account registered in the names of Lubega Fahad.
On 2 June 2026 at approximately 2:00 PM, the complainant made the payment at Metroplex Mall. Upon revisiting the property, the complainant was informed by the caretaker that the house was not available for rent but was instead being offered for sale. Efforts to reverse the transaction were unsuccessful as the funds had already been withdrawn.
The complainant was advised to formally report the matter to Police. However, he later received information that the suspect had been sighted at the bank. Upon returning, he found that the suspect had already been apprehended.
It is alleged that the suspect later escaped from the bank while under the watch of the bank security guard, prompting members of the public to pursue and assault him. Police found that the suspect had already been apprehended and appeared weak, although no visible torture marks were observed at the time.
The suspect was subsequently taken to Kiwatule Police Station for custody but passed on shortly after arrival. The body was conveyed to Mulago City Mortuary for postmortem examination.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding both the alleged fraud and the subsequent mob action remain ongoing.
The Uganda Police Force strongly condemns acts of mob justice and urges members of the public to hand over suspects to law enforcement agencies for proper handling in accordance with the law.
We once again regret the earlier miscommunication and reaffirm our commitment to providing accurate, timely, and accountable information to the public.

. @KawalaRachael "Our attention has been drawn to reports circulating on various platforms regarding an alleged incident of mob action at DTB Ntinda in Kampala District. We wish to clarify that no such incident has been reported to or registered at Kira Road Police Station. We therefore call upon anyone who may have credible information that could assist in establishing the facts surrounding these reports to come forward and share it with the Police to support appropriate verification and action. upf.go.ug/clarification-…

As a country, we have a big challenge with some unprofessional individuals in the police force
a close associate of the deceased contacted me & shared information, i asked for evidence & after receiving it, I made a post, minutes later, a DTB officer called me, demanding that i take it down or face court the next day,i told him that threats would not silence me
later another lady with sweet voice from DTB called, asked if im an influencer we talk, told her im not, we had a respectful conversation & agreed that i would pull down the post if they issued a public statement the following day, instead i was later told they would only make a statement after everyone who had posted about the matter removed it from their pages like facebook, i disagreed & told her that if no statement was made by 6pm, i would repost, they never issued a statement, so i reposted
wat disturbed me most was seeing a police statement dismissing the matter as false information, yet its police that picked him from bank & he died at kiwatule police station trying to make a statement, if people like @KawalaRachael in positions of authority can simply label concerns as false without properly addressing them, then we have a serious problem
this is not the first time something like this happening, another case ( the pined one on my profile) some officers attempted to frustrate investigations until the matter reached Afande @Tom_Magambo who took action thanks Afande
we also face a challenge with some influencers who attack & discredit people raising concerns simply coz they are paid to do so ( one day i will shame these influencers here), today it is someone else, tomorrow it could be u or me, we should look beyond money
End
Thank u for this public statement
#RIP 🙏🏽
