@ForwardCarolina Good Lord... I'm not saying it's a perfect situation but u complain either way... Could things be better? Sure they could.... And hopefully things continue to improve for teachers but for damn your just miserable all the freaking time...

NC House Speaker Destin Hall said budget agreement with Senate will have largest avg. teacher pay increase since 2006. Avg. pay raise of 8% with raises all across salary schedule. Raises not retroactive to start of fiscal year. Would go in effect when budget passes. #ncpol #nced

I appreciate the sentiment, but teachers have to be honest to gain the respect of the general public... I've fed my family of four (now inc. a bonus high schooler) exclusively on a teacher's salary (and side hustles) for 13 years.

@nckhui It’s not just the time burden. I personally know a teacher who withdrew all books from her classroom to avoid Karens and Chads w/ too much time on their hands who might comb through every book in her list seeking objectionable material to get her publicly shamed or fired.

@FixingEducation I had a student who came in every morning with takis and soda. I spoke to Mom about it and she had no idea. He would stop at the gas station and shoplift them every morning on his way to school. 😵

I’m convinced that 75% of my students eat Hot Cheetos or Takis for breakfast, lunch & dinner EVERY SINGLE DAY.
