The protests in Ireland are not about just fuel! They are about the distance between Ireland on this graph and every other modern and developed economy. Ireland is second wealthiest but gets waaaaay less than any other country for that wealth. By a golden mile.
That visual gap in this graph? That’s what people are protesting. It’s a lack of infrastructure and the everyday enshittification of services, the economy, and the additional difficulty of trying to live, relative to peers in any other country. It also highlights why people don’t get uniformly listened to! - because there is no government architecture to engage meaningfully across this huge gap.
That gap is a three hour drive to work in traffic, a 14 month wait for an MRI, buses that don’t arrive, trains that don’t exist, schools that have no places for your kids, houses that are unaffordable, pubs that close before midnight, €12 sandwiches, expensive fuel.
People feel this gap, even if they can’t explain it precisely. And that builds into resentment, and ultimately protest. Fuel just happened to be the next thing that could be pointed to, today.

@MartianSeervant @EndTheEU @SuzieD755164 Decentralised Finance, a crypto term to describe permissionless banking on a crypto network. Basically a crypto wallet you own and control to interact with other crypto services. Problem is to load the crypto wallet you use traditional banking services...

This digital ID is "legally mandated" by the EU. By the end of the year, all banking institutions, etc, won't be letting anyone do their banking WITHOUT digital ID. LOCKSTEP.
Once we are in this system, it will be almost impossible to reverse.

@CryptoFeras With no signs of de-escalation of the war in Iran how likely are we to sustain a run ?? All the signs point to more escalation and potentially Iranian oil infrastructure going to be hit next??

Earlier today, a user attempted to buy AAVE using $50M USDT through the Aave interface.
Given the unusually large size of the single order, the Aave interface, like most trading interfaces, warned the user about extraordinary slippage and required confirmation via a checkbox. The user confirmed the warning on their mobile device and proceeded with the swap, accepting the high slippage, which ultimately resulted in receiving only 324 AAVE in return.
The transaction could not be moved forward without the user explicitly accepting the risk through the confirmation checkbox.
The CoW Swap routers functioned as intended, and the integration followed standard industry practices. However, while the user was able to proceed with the swap, the final outcome was clearly far from optimal.
Events like this do occur in DeFi, but the scale of this transaction was significantly larger than what is typically seen in the space.
We sympathize with the user and will try to make a contact with the user and we will return $600K in fees collected from the transaction.
The key takeaway is that while DeFi should remain open and permissionless, allowing users to perform transactions freely, there are additional guardrails the industry can build to better protect users. Our team will be investigating ways to improve these safeguards going forward.

@HaseebAhmedch2 @primarycatdad @grok @grok Is the post suggesting a crash in the markets will bring pressure to the US to seek a diplomatic ceasefire to reassure investors
English

@SprinterPress a $200 drone just turned a billion dollar radar into scrap metal. the US is spending $10M per tomahawk to hit targets that cost $500 to rebuild. this war is unwinnable by math alone

@john_mcguirk If true why has this image not being released. If the goal is for the Iranian people to rise up against the regime this would be a helpful development

Iran so infiltrated by Mossad that not only were they able to hit him with a pinpoint strike; agents on ground got photos of body... before the Iranians could announce it.

@MrOizo2k22 @wayne_m159 @__DeeeCR7 Stopping was obviously the wrong action to take. Getting off the road was the only survivable action.
English

@wayne_m159 @__DeeeCR7 How can you drive into the field if you stopped to zero and has no more time for any action.
You people really think that you can repeat this after save till you win the game?
English

@wayne_m159 @__DeeeCR7 Field was the only option in this situation and would have almost certainlybsaved their lives. Maybe the driver didn't understand the imminent danger and thought they would have been safe in the car ,that it could take the impact.

Obama deported more from both the interior and border.
His ICE agents killed 76 people.

The post references a recent release of Epstein files revealing that in 2018, Jeffrey Epstein purchased 330 gallons of sulfuric acid via LSJE LLC for his private island. Sulfuric acid has industrial uses like water treatment or cleaning, but the purchase has sparked speculation about potential misuse given Epstein's history. No confirmed purpose is stated in the documents.
