Help me out, people in Edinburgh & Fife, please. I am looking out my window here in Liberton & there is a white light flashing in distance with a 7 to 9 second interval across in Fife which I can make out with both eyes & my binoculars. From angle, it is not Mossmoran.

@RestIsPolitics Hi Gents, avid listener and huge fan, do you intend to cover the passing of Alex Salmond and give a view on his legacy. I’m really surprised about the distinct lack of coverage given his significant impact, regardless of peoples views. As a Scot, I’m disappointed.

@MartinSLewis I read that the base rate is going up and mortgage rates too. However, recently we had news that inflation was slowing or reducing by the PM and the IMF report about ultra low rates due to return etc. The news and reality are in conflict and it’s hard to believe..?

@monzo still no meaningful contact or resolution… so we’re getting close to a week in and still Monzo have done nothing. Your team keep saying that you’re dealing with high level of fraud at the moment and they are too busy… really, that’s not very reassuring is it!

72hours later, post reporting a fraud case is not really acceptable is it. My cards frozen etc… that’s a lot of time and over a weekend to be without means of payment etc. no meaningful contact from anyone, shocking service.

@monzo I encountered a case of fraud and reported it on Friday, I’ve still not had any contact by anyone in the fraud team and no proactive help getting back up and running, as a premium customer the service has been abysmal!

@MartinSLewis It’s a completely false economy all the cuts and relief that just gets recycled back in payment as people are forced to pay the bills and the companies profit as do the government in VAT… it’s a joke. The govt would probably make more in VAT on some bills than the relief given..

That rise alone swallows up not just £400 help for all homes,but even the £1,200 for the poorest This will leave many destitute. Tax cuts won't help poorest incl many elderly & disabled who've higher usage Cutting green levy'd be just tiny sticking plaster on a gaping wound...

Tragic news The latest @CornwallInsight prediction, based on Ofgem's new methodology, is an 81% price cap rise in Oct (taking typical bill to £3,582/yr) and a further 19% in Jan (so £4,266/yr) Action & planning is needed now. The zombie govt needs wake up sooner than 5 Sept...

@MartinSLewis @CornwallInsight At what point is a cap not a cap… how much would it be if there was no cap… it’s a farce. Why aren’t we seeing the CEO’s of the big 6 on the news defending it and explaining to the public… they are publicly listed companies with shareholders of all walks of life. Justify it…!

@MartinSLewis And the relief and tax breaks the govt are talking about is just recycling the money back in to the govt and the companies… we’ll tax the company to pay the people to pay the company again, oh and we’ll tax that payment yet again… bonkers

@MartinSLewis What is crazy is that the govt are talking relief to give working people a fraction of help which ultimately ends up back in the companies and govt’s hands in payments for bills and VAT etc… it’s perverse. Stop it at source and reject the price hike verbatim. Throttle profits.

@MartinSLewis There is no justification for the price hike at that level. They are all looking at the formula watching the price go up and up and it’s clearly broken or exceptional but rather than correct it, they continue to profiteer. Price cap is a joke

@sizeofficial hello, I purchased some trainers in Scotland during lockdown and just tried to return them in store on Fredrick street Edinburgh but was told that the returns policy was 60days from purchase, which was still during lockdown, which means I couldn’t have returned them
