@tomhfh I rode the new ones in Utrecht recently, honestly really enjoyed them! They're a lot more nimble and also way quicker to accelerate/brake (although perhaps that's just because they're new and haven't been worn down yet)

Spotted one of those new diddy little lime bikes with tiny wheels. It’s like one of those scooter bikes the Amish scoot around on in Lancaster, PA so they can’t travel too far (niche reference I know). Normal lime for comparison.

It's awesome to see that despite how dogshit the infrastructure down CS7 is, in peak it's still very well used! (and this was taken today! Not even a strike day) Imagine this with a cycle superhighway

Having some of the Welwyn services taken over by crossrail would free up more capacity at Moorgate at peak for the Hertford loop line, which might be needed if the crews hill development goes ahead

One thing that I haven't seen anyone talking about with TFL taking over the GN Inner services, is that the 2015 crossrail 2 map had it terminating above ground at New Southgate, but with them running that branch, i wonder if it would be ran up to Welwyn GC instead

I want London to look like Maida Vale, Chelsea, Pimlico, Kensington... Mansion blocks are arguably the perfect form of urban densification - and have been made illegal to build in any elegant way in London today.

Electricity prices in France temporarily dropped to zero — consumers got power for free On December 8, electricity prices on France’s day-ahead market fell to zero, meaning that for several hours power was effectively free. Bloomberg reported the development. The reason was a rare energy surplus: an unusually warm winter sharply reduced demand for heating, while strong winds boosted output from wind farms. At the same time, nuclear plants were running at about 85% capacity, adding even more excess supply to the grid. The agency notes that Europe is seeing such situations more and more often: growing renewable generation during periods of low demand increasingly pushes electricity prices down to zero — and sometimes even into negative territory.
