Announcing FlipWP 🚀 The private acquisition marketplace for WordPress. Together with @AlexDenning, I’ve just launched @flip_wp, a service to connect sellers of #WordPress businesses with buyers looking to specifically acquire WordPress companies. flipwp.co

I built a productivity app because I couldn't focus long enough to use the ones that already existed. Today it's live — on the App Store and the web. @IntentMode. A focus-first task manager.

@polevaultweb can we make @wp_acf return the field "description" in the rest api schema as description? WordPress core meta fields to that as well. Would simplify schema generation a lot.

@_osull @wp_acf @steveschoger @WordPress Thanks for the reply! Totally get it - zero-config wins for agencies. We've been thinking about how to make the Icon Picker more out-of-the-box friendly. Would love to chat about what you've learned building this. DMs open!

@polevaultweb @wp_acf @steveschoger @WordPress The hook method is great for developers who want full control, but for agencies wanting a drop-in solution it adds friction. Happy to chat if there’s ever appetite to bundle more icon sets natively.

ACF already powers content modeling and creation - helping with content discovery felt like a natural next step. Your fields define the structure; we're making that structure visible to search engines and AI. It's experimental for now, and we're not looking to become an SEO plugin - just bridging the gap where it makes sense. 🚀

Advanced Custom Fields (@wp_ACF) version 6.8 is now available! 🚀 This release brings three powerful features: WordPress Abilities API integration, automatic Schema.org structured data, and new WP-CLI commands for managing ACF JSON. (Link in reply.)

WPackagist has been acquired by @wpengine. For over a decade, Outlandish built and maintained this service. Now WP Engine is carrying it forward - with the same commitment to the developer community in the WordPress ecosystem.

@polevaultweb Right. And it is important every developer knows this immediately and every time we run composer in our CLI/CI why? I've seen it ~10 times just today. I thought the narrative was that nothing was going to change with this shift in ownership..

And it only took less than 24h for this to pop up on every composer run: "Info from wpackagist.org: WPackagist is now maintained by WP Engine. Learn more at wpengine.com" Which I'm sure is a permanent message that will just shift to marketing. Prove me wrong🤡

@retlehs As you will know, the majority of WPackagist users will predominantly interact with the service via the CLI, not the website - so this is a good place to alert them of the change of ownership

FYI Composer repos can include an ‘info’ field in packages.json that displays messages to every developer on install/update. Any repo maintainer could use this to push ads, upsells, or whatever else directly into your terminal wp-composer.com will never do this
Jeremy Pollock@jeremypollock

@aaronware @wpengine @LocalWP We are planning on adding: "WPackagist is now maintained by WP Engine." in the CLI. That is all.

WP Engine
WP Engine@wpengine·
We've acquired WPackagist. If you use Composer to manage WordPress plugins and themes, you probably already know it. Now it's part of the WP Engine family. WPackagist enables developers to install and manage WordPress plugins and themes using Composer, the PHP dependency manager. Millions of requests every week with thousands of developers relying on it daily. It's essential infrastructure for modern development on WordPress software. WPackagist joins Local, ACF, WP Migrate, and WP Offload Media in our developer tools lineup. We believe that ensuring the stability and reliability of critical developer infrastructure is essential to the WordPress ecosystem. Big thanks to @outlandish for building and maintaining @wpackagist for over a decade. We're proud to carry it forward. Read more: wpengine.com/blog/wp-engine…
