Increasing numbers of Sandwich Terns now arriving on the South Scrape at Minsmere, Suffolk, and joining the cacophony of Black-headed Gulls already present! Also good to see that two of the terns were posturing and displaying to each other - welcome back! (31st March 2026)

I'm not willing to pretend we're the good guys here. Trump is clinically insane and he needs to be removed from office.

@wmarybeard I cannot see how a great medieval church can be converted without a terrible loss of its artistic treasures- statues from the facade & interior, smashing out all the stained glass, the destruction of all the monuments, even the defacing of the many carvings depicting nature

On the question of whether churches should be allowed to become mosques, let's remember that the Parthenon was originally a "pagan" temple, then was converted into a Christian church, then became a mosque. This kind of conversion is not historically unusual.

Ofsted inspector complains to head teacher that in the geography the children not learning the names of rivers. The head says the children don’t speak. They’re non-verbal, autistic. The inspector ignores this and puts it in the report. True story. Heard it tonight from the head.
