@ThingsByNik Said the same last night, Gakpo can’t beat a man so not a winger, can’t take chances so not a striker, can’t pass so not a 10, what is he supposed to be? I wouldn’t mind if he was good out of possession but he’s not, all he does is barge into people and give away free kicks

@AlexSuart Completly agree. Wherever he goes next, likely back to the Dutch league, he needs to take Gakpo with him. Hes constant use of Gakpo is infuriating. He didn’t had the output or skills to play as a winger or striker. I don’t know what he’s offering this season.

@ThingsByNik Exactly he clearly has his favourites and they play and underperform no matter what, he should have went after getting battered by Forest and PSV at Anfield in the space of about 5 days

@AlexSuart That’s the issue with Slot. He talks about having no players but then plays the same ones each week regardless of how poor they are playing. Bet the players hate him. He had to go, should have gone in November.

@ThingsByNik Either Chiesa or Ngumoha should have came on, Jones shouldn’t even be on the bench though he’s been our second best midfielder this season but somehow Gravenberch and Mac Allister are still allowed to drop stinkers every week

@AlexSuart Bringing on Jones yesterday in place of Etikite really annoyed me. Has a forward in Chiesa on the bench but brings on a midfielder, then moved that midfielder to right back.

@CalvLyfeson You say “I know Chiesa isn’t good enough” but a good manager would have you believe he’s a world beater, Ramsay is Scotland’s best full back, Endo is Japans best player but there’s one bloke who doesn’t trust them, there’s a very obvious problem

I know Chiesa isn't good enough. Endo. Ramsay. They shouldn't be playing for Liverpool but they do. With the injuries we've had they should've been dropped in for 15 minutes here and there to ease the burden. Not ideal but the whole season hasn't been.

This is my biggest gripe I think. In spite of the injuries his squad management has been really poor. Why is Allison playing in the FA Cup at Wolves? An opportunity to rest him. He's injured again now. We've had bad luck this season but the manager has compounded it.
This Is Anfield@thisisanfield

Liverpool were 4-0 up after an hour on Wednesday. Szoboszlai (and Mac Allister) still played 90 minutes. Nyoni came on in the 88th minute. Now, Slot says players need a break 🤷🏼‍♂️ thisisanfield.com/2026/03/arne-s…

The crowd were on Gravenberch's back there because after one touch he needed to just pass the ball quickly but he took a couple more unnecessary touches slowing the move down then passed. Play quick. The crowd knows.

@LukFloes Elliott vs Fulham? You missed the one where he got rattled by their boos and had an absolute stinker before getting dragged off when we were 1-0 down?

I'll reduce the bar, Elliott vs Luton? Elliott vs Wolves in Klopp's last game? Elliott vs Newcastle pretty time he's faced them? Elliott vs Fulham every time he's faced them? Elliott vs Chelsea in the Carabao final? I'll take a performance equivalent to literally any of these.

Will Florian Wirtz finally have a performance better than Harvey Elliott vs Spurs (H) in 23/24 in our biggest game of the season so far?

@AlexSuart I think it’s a crucial thing where players respect you given your experience and accomplishments. It’s human nature in many ways. It’s often said Heitinga related very well with the players as opposed to slot and May players we can tell have fallen off with him.

@Mobyhaque1 Managing elite players might be the important difference between them judging by how Slot fell out with our best player earlier this season, Ancelotti and Zidane made a career of it and hoovered up Champions Leagues, at least Alonso would know how to use Wirtz

2/2 Xabi Alonso: Knows the club’s culture, expectations, and style, reducing risk typically attached to unknowns. His Madrid stint shows he needs dressing room fully bought in. 4–2-3-1 pref. Available immediately and will resonate emotionally with fanbase which for a club like LFC is important factor. Hoeness: Guided Stuttgart from relegation danger to 2nd in Bundesliga and back to UCL for the first time since 2010. Known for proactive, high-pressing football with excellent player dev. Was on our list before. Little to no experience managing elite players so far. Project manager and still young at 43. Mixes 4-2-3-1/4-4-2 fluidly, possession based play. Lots of Pep Guardiola influence in positional play along with Rangnick pressing play. Fabregas: Steered Como to Serie A promotion in 2024. Described as Tactically innovative. No experience managing elite players and & UCL level. Timing too early but huge future upside.

Sterling got 6 goals and 2 assists in his first season at city, during that season he was 4 years older than Rio. What’s wrong with this fella?
🥤@PaulSenior1

@6xc13m I said to the lads by me yesterday, he needs to watch how sterling becomes pure output, cos you can’t be all fart. Beats a man well, but sterling translated that into goals, especially at city. I’d be watching him every day if I was him

@whelfam @AlexSuart Ekitike is a youngster who is used to playing in 18 team leagues with one cup competition. Takes a season to adjust to the chaos of this league. Same with Wirtz. Knowing Jota isn’t relevant to anything I said.

@JamesWortho__ This attitude of “we’re not Everton” is a load of shite, if we were in their situation with Lampard would we back him and get relegated because of some holier than thou attitude?

@CalvLyfeson We’re not getting relegated but we’re missing out on millions by not qualifying for the Champions League because the current fella has us at best as the 6th best team in the league, doubt the owners are happy to miss out on that money

They don't compromise when signing players. They certainly won't when appointing a manager. There won't be an interim. Forget it. We're not getting relegated. It's not that pressing.

If there aren't discussions happening over the coming days it's because he's steadfastly their guy and they're okay with defying fans or their prime target isn't available. Only two conclusions.

@markrstats Only bloke in the world that didn’t know the Tottenham goal was coming, only shock was that it wasn’t in stoppage time, if you didn’t see it coming take up a new sport because you’ve somehow missed the most predictable thing in football history

I disagree with the "it was coming" takes on the Tottenham equalizer. Rewatching the second half, what was actually "coming" is a second Liverpool goal on the break that would've killed the game. This is outcome-based reasoning, not analysis
