@MarcelineLeiman Bags of bits are easier to toss into my bag, and if the bits are less likely to be crushed than the box they're in, the bag holds up better and longer if I'm carrying the game around. (I've wrecked multiple plastic travel chess sets that have clamshell boards. Hive still strong)

When choosing between two travel-size games are you more like to grab: 1) a game in a plastic box (compact, ideally all reused plastics) OR 2) a game in a cloth bag (waterproof/safe materials)

@SpicyEncounters @DruidPax I mean, those Wayne Reynolds covers... Which, comparing artist credits, my love for Pathfinder and Eberron now make sense.

@DruidPax @SpicyEncounters The rules are 100% free, but then I, the GM, don't get to flip through my Wizard Tome looking at all that Paizo art for inspiration for my next session.

"I'm not supposed to tell you this, but... you know Pagliacci? That freakin' CLOWN that goes onstage curing people's depression without a license? Well the medical board or whoever heard he was gonna be here, set this entire thing up. This whole doctor's office is a Trap."

@KP11Studios I'm glad to hear it's not the end, because I just learned about it today. It's honestly the Moonbeam connected project that got me most excited.

I must highlight, this is not the end of Project Dastan. We WILL be coming back again, better than ever. It's not a matter of if, but when.

Hey friends, an update on Project Dastan: After much deliberation w/ the team, w/ Moonbeam, & our creative partners/supporters, I have come to an important decision. We are going to close the campaign on Project Dastan for now. 1st & foremost, thank you for all the support
KP *Brown Spiced* Upadhyayula@KP11Studios

We’re nearly 50% of the way of our initial goal of raising funds for our creators, as well as towards our Project Dastan scholarship for future creators! To fund the show, we need minimum of $50,000, which is the first stretch goal. We’re putting people first, show second.

@bbylwyr21 @thehandsomezach Like literally, legally you could just draw a giant middle finger and if you intended it to be your mark then it counts. (This is why most of the super important stuff gets notarized, "so and so drew this in front of me and said it was their mark and they meant to agree")

@thehandsomezach And then you go in the replies and it’s a bunch of people calling him dumb, saying it has to be his full legal name. Which is…. Not at all true.

@NSeanchai @SpicyEncounters Pathfinder 2 could do with a nice piece at the front like 4e had "the basic rule is roll this 20 sider and if you beat it, one thing happens; beat it by 10 and a bigger thing happens. Miss and you don't do that thing. Miss by 10 and things get worse. All other rules just modify"

@SpicyEncounters This is especially true in #pathfinder2e as there's literally rules for how to safely ignore the rules or form when there's not a rule you need. You could literally run the game off a post-it and one chart.

@WardukeAtHome @SpicyEncounters But part of what lets a one-pager work is super tight focus on which mechanics are necessary to do its thing. And also a bit of assumption about which mechanics can be implied to a player who has probably played something before. One-page versus many page is difference in scope.

@SpicyEncounters Yeah, I think it just depends on what you want. There are TTRPGs where are the rules fit on a single sheet of paper. Are they missing something necessary? Probably not. But if you'd rather play something like Pathfinder you'd probably think they were missing a great deal.

@Ishanekon @SpicyEncounters Though, to be fair, the big popular game is also a big massive tome. And then it doesn't give the same support. Like PF2e vs Cairn or Mausritter or something that is actually 60 pages versus D&D that is still a big tome

@SpicyEncounters That's what I thought 🤣. You probably only play with people that love that sort of thing. PF 2e is an excellent war/numbers game with great balance. It is expertly designed to optimize that goal. It is, however, really bad for the pure roleplayers who do not want to be slowed...

@popelizbet Talking with someone else in my office, our conclusion is that ending Chevron Deference is going to make a very lucrative new area of creating ambiguity in statutes in motions for injunctions.

@PartyOfOnePod I don't remember how I first heard of Party of One but the first episode I remember listening to was the two-parter of Lovecraftesque with Wormtooth. Which was super good and got me thinking about running the same kind of thing for friends of mine.

@JimmyShelter @PartyOfOnePod My favorite part about Party of One is I can actually listen to a full episode in a single day's commuting. Other APs that fit a four hour session into a single episode are like an entire week commitment PER EPISODE

Hey. You. Recommend me a cool new 2-player (or 2-player-friendly) TTRPG I should check out for the show. Tell me why it is cool in a single tweet. I will check out the responses. Looking to get a pulse check on what's new out there, what I should be eyeing for the podcast.

@lenawithabox @sscaide @catherinespaws And honestly, even in anime, those filler episodes done well can be great. In the original Fullmetal Alchemist, there's an episode that has Hawkeye and the other members of Mustang's unit training a puppy and investigating a warehouse. It was good characterization

@sscaide @catherinespaws And the reason filler is annoying in anime is because it ruins pacing of the story that is (very importantly) already really long. Filler in a show like one piece with over 1k episodesis very different to "filler" in a seasonal show of like 20 or less episodes

i miss filler episodes. idgaf how annoying you think they are, theyre SO necessary to get the audience attached to the characters. i need to know what these chucklefucks you've introduced to me do in their free time or i can't and won't like them as much.
JOLLY J✨@DynamoSuperX

how the hell we go from 20 episodes every 6 months to 8 episodes a year??? STOP MAKING ME WAIT 2 YEARS FOR 8 EPISODES. THEY'RE TV SHOWS, NOT MOVIES!!!

@josh_is_loud @SpicyEncounters The core books *look* intimidating, but really most things come down to DC by level (plus or minus 5-10 depending on factors) and then you critical fail or succeed if your result is 10 or more away from that number. Virtually every system boils down to that basic mechanic.

@T_M_Hudson @BeatMeat3 @Nakuurs @snowttrpg Again, a "Hey, before you follow though on that idea, this is a thing I can do, why don't we do it" (I mostly DM, but when I know that Bless and Guidance and stuff like that are available, I kinda nudge players toward using all their stuff if I know it's there)

@AlexTKeane @BeatMeat3 @Nakuurs @snowttrpg It's also touch range and concentration. If you want to keep it on yourself at all time when not in combat that would be perfectly fine but you would always need to communicate putting it on a party member.

@T_M_Hudson @BeatMeat3 @Nakuurs @snowttrpg I feel like a cantrip with a Duration of minutes can just have 'hey let's retcon that this bonus is on' is a decently reasonable thing. Or have players set up the "assume I do this" ahead of time

@BeatMeat3 @Nakuurs @snowttrpg As someone who has been a DM post BG3 guidance is a fucking massive pain in the ass. Its not a reaction so you need to cast it before the option to roll is given but everyone wants to use it like in the game.
