So we have to wait until the World Cup is over before we sign any more players because we can only work on Barcola and no other deals a typical stop whinging piece from Edwards and Ornstein gaslighting the fan base as they avoid doing the work that must be done this summer 🤡

this might genuinely be the most complete and dangerous midfield heading into the next season.

🇵🇹 I think the market right now means there isn’t really a ‘Mo Salah at Roma type’ signing for Liverpool. Instead they have to find their ‘Mo Salah at Basel type’ signing. What I mean by that is to look outside of the top five leagues. One player who would be on my shortlist is Carlos Forbs. 23 G/As last season, including 5 G/As in 9 UCL games. ⚡️ He’s incredibly fast. Makes good vertical runs behind defences but also a good one vs one player with quick feet who can change direction, make clever feints and glide past defenders with ease. Last season he completed 65% of his dribbles - the most out of any player in the Jupiler Pro League who averaged at least 4 dribbles per 90 minutes. 📊 He’s excellent at making cut-backs and going down the touchline. Averaged the 5th most passes into the penalty area (4.25 per 90 minutes) and 0.25 xA per 90 in all competitions. Only 22-years-old, I think he still has room to grow off the ball defensively and physically he could use his body better - he is small in stature but I still feel like sometimes he loses physical duels that he shouldn’t. So I’m not saying Forbs is perfect. Liverpool don’t really have a perfect option in the market right now. However, he does have potential and a profile that would suit Andoni Iraola’s style of play. His speed could bring a new threat to Liverpool in transition and his ability to supply passes and cut-backs into the box is something that could provide Isak with a lot of chances. Always appreciate a character that has been written off and bounced back as well. Didn’t get the opportunities he should have at Wolves. Similar to Vitinha. Or Salah at Chelsea. There aren’t many RWs (particularly left footed ones) in the market right now. Forbs is one I would keep an eye on alongside Yankuba Minteh.

@kmahta58 @lNVERTEDWlNGER I just think its more because not much is happening rather than us keeping it under wraps. Because of the current market i think the club wont do much more business

Definitely not “panic mode” 4 days into the window opening across Europe.. but im suprised how badly prepared we seem to be. Both on the sales front and incomings. Munoz yes, Jacquet was done in Jan. Would have expected more movement by now given pre season starts soon.

Liverpool's management is reviewing why they have recently been played by players’ agents. Serious changes in their approach are being discussed. #LFC

In isolation, a move for Yan Diomande makes complete sense if Liverpool believe he can blossom into a truly great winger given his initial signs of real promise at RB Leipzig. But the bigger picture ensures matters are far less clearcut. The Reds splashed out £100m-plus on two players last summer in Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz, both of whom are far, far more proven at the highest level than Diomande. Neither, though, has justified their price tag, most notably Isak given his fitness and injury concerns. Liverpool therefore surely cannot afford another expensive misfire. Diomande, then, would represent a massive gamble at £86m, let alone the price Leipzig want. By offering such an eye-watering amount for Diomande, Liverpool clearly believe the youngster is the right man for both the present and long-term future. [🟢] INFO: It's becoming increasingly clear that any significant movement on Yan Diomande's career plans won't be made until after the World Cup. Or, more specifically, after the Ivory Coast's now historic campaign has concluded. Last week, Liverpool communicated their willingness to pay up to £86m. However, Leipzig are reluctant to sell Diomande and want to enter into talks with the player's representatives about a fresh contract. That, as of Friday afternoon is where things are understood to stand right now. [@ptgorst] liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football…
