🚧Eng. January Silangi Mugaye, Superintendent of Works at Kanungu District, is on the run, fearing arrest after the newly constructed Kankoko Bridge, worth 40 million Uganda shillings, collapsed weeks after it was commissioned. It is alleged that the work on the bridge was shoddy. Who is to blame by the misconduct of such engineers Are they really registered engineers @ERBUganda or they don't even own the titles What Must Be Done to so that Engineering Ethics are respected @MoWT_Uganda @UIPE_Uganda @MoLGUganda @UIPEKlaBranch

🚧The official launch of construction for the Kabaka Daudi Chwa II EACOP Stadium at the Buddu Saza Ground in Masaka City. This landmark initiative serves as a corporate social responsibility legacy project funded by the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) and its partners before Uganda’s first commercial oil barrel flows. Key Highlights of the Launch Cultural Significance: The groundbreaking ceremony was presided over by the Katikkiro (Prime Minister) of the Buganda Kingdom, Charles Peter Mayiga. He officially named the facility to honor Kabaka Daudi Chwa II, who was Uganda's first FUFA (Federation of Uganda Football Associations) President in 1924 and donated the land where the FUFA headquarters stand today. Timing & Legacy: The event coincides with the milestone of Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II marking 33 years on the throne (Amatikkira 33). Strategic Partnerships: The project is a collaborative effort involving the Buganda Kingdom, the Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU), the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, EACOP, and Oceans General Holdings Limited. Community Impact: Designed to address the shortage of modern sports infrastructure in Uganda, the stadium will serve as a modern sports hub for Buddu County and the greater Masaka region, seamlessly blending cultural heritage with socioeconomic community development. @OfficialFUFA @EACOP_

@Alfrednsaba The weakness of this government is lack of supervision and people staying in the position for many years and mugaye has been that position for the last 20yrs plus

If Balaam is closing gov't schools where students pay fees, let him close Ntare, Bweranyangi or Mbarara High Sch. Everything is done by gov't but students pay 3M fees. Let him close or arrest Ntare Sch H/M and we see if he will remain a Minister! - Mwijukye Francis said

@rwenzori_ A government school is fully owned and managed by the state, a government-aided school is owned by a private body (like a church or community group) but receives financial support and teachers from the government, and both follow official public education rules.

🚧𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐊𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐥𝐚 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐚𝐬 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐔𝐩𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝟗𝟎.𝟓𝟕% 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 The Government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Uganda's electricity infrastructure, with the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Transmission System Improvement Project now 90.57% complete. The milestone was confirmed following an inspection of the project by the Managing Director of the Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL), Eng. Joselynne R. Rwabwogo, and the Chief Executive Officer of the Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL), Eng. Richard Matsiko. Financed through concessional funding from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the project is designed to enhance the capacity, reliability and resilience of the electricity transmission network serving the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area. Key works include: • Construction of new substations at Maya (Buloba) and Mukono • Upgrades to substations at Kawaala, Mutundwe and Bujagali • Reinforcement of critical 132kV transmission lines • Deployment of a mobile substation at Namungoona to improve supply reliability The officials acknowledged the temporary inconveniences caused by planned power outages during construction, noting that the interruptions are necessary to safely execute the works and deliver a stronger electricity network capable of meeting Kampala's rapidly growing energy demand. Upon completion, the project is expected to significantly improve electricity transmission capacity, reduce the risk of widespread outages, enhance service reliability, and support Uganda's industrialisation agenda and broader economic transformation. The Government appreciates the public's continued patience and cooperation as the country invests in modern infrastructure to deliver reliable, efficient and sustainable electricity for homes, businesses and industries. @UEDCLTD @uetcl #OpenGovUg #Uganda #Electricity #PowerInfrastructure #GreaterKampala

@grace_twijukye You are right The only issue is that the engineers & contractor ran away after the collapse. They should have stayed to defend themselves Another thing is that even the little 40m wasn't used appropriately
