If Balaam is closing gov't schools where students pay fees, let him close Ntare, Bweranyangi or Mbarara High Sch. Everything is done by gov't but students pay 3M fees. Let him close or arrest Ntare Sch H/M and we see if he will remain a Minister! - Mwijukye Francis said

"Numbers don't grow an economy on their own, disciplined people do, and that's the business of accountants. When accountants do their job well, capital flows, revenue rises, and economies grow. When they don't, systems crumble." — Mr. Joseph Enyimu, Commissioner, Economic Development Policy and Research Department, Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development. #14CPAEconForum

@ICPAU1 From what you're saying in fact accountants have a big role to play, but does the government prioritize accountants,we were sponsored by both the central government and the local government to study CPA courses, the finalists have not been absorbed in government ministries, todate

Today, we celebrate CPA Doris Namitala Kyakuwa as she shares her inspiring CPA journey, a story of determination, resilience, and refusing to give up. “I am CPA Doris Namitala Kyakuwa, and I work with NCDC in the Finance Department. My CPA journey was not an easy one; it was challenging, humbling, and rewarding at the same time. I started the course in 2015, and while Level One was a smooth start, the journey became more demanding as I progressed. In Level Two, I had to rely mostly on self-study because finances could not always allow me to attend classes. Some papers, especially Financial Reporting, Management Decision and Control, and Taxation, tested me greatly, but I kept pushing. Level Three came with its own challenges, and Advanced Financial Reporting (AFR) became the biggest hurdle in my journey. I sat for the paper ten times and passed on my eleventh attempt. It was a difficult season, but giving up was never an option because AFR was the final step before completing my CPA journey. Interestingly, while AFR was still a challenge, I pursued my MBA and graduated with a First Class. This experience taught me that challenges do not define our abilities, perseverance does. When I finally completed my CPA, I was blessed with triplets the day before my graduation. It was a reminder that every difficult journey has a rewarding moment waiting at the end. My CPA journey taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of believing in myself. To anyone pursuing CPA, keep going. The journey may be tough, but the reward is worth it.” #ProudToBeACPA #WeCreateImpact

People who eat meat at roadsides, read this!!! Police have seized four slaughtered dogs whose carcass was in transit for distribution to a roadside meat market to be roasted for human consumption in Mubende Municipality on Saturday morning. Sources say the carcasses were intercepted when a routine police patrol vehicle stopped a motorcycle whose rider was carrying a polythene bag and a passenger at around midnight. According to police ,the rider declined to stop, prompting the police crew to pursue them to establish what they were carrying. In the pursuit, the rider and the passenger were arrested for failing to stop at the police checkpoint officers then searched the suspects and their property. It is then that the officers found four carcasses of dogs in the polythene bag. The suspects were tasked to explain the circumstances under which the dogs died, where they got them from, and where they were taking them. We have learnt that during interrogation, the suspects told police they were delivering the carcasses to roadside meat markets in Mubende Municipality where they supply the meat to people who sell it as roasted goat’s meat to consumers mainly those traveling. There are several roadside meat markets in Mubende Municipality where many travellers along the Kampala-Mubende-Fort Portal highway make stopovers to buy roasted chicken and goat’s meat. Many now have been buying dog meat thinking its cow meat.

Uganda’s fear of poisoning is an interesting one. People fear poison both from their own and from without. So pervasive is the fear that even water served in media studios often remains untouched. Some media houses avoid serving anything, lest they make their guests uncomfortable. Sometimes a fan sees you on a talkshow with water in front of you and they immediately text you: ‘Spire don’t drink that water please and don’t speak close to the microphone’. Even at workplaces, many can’t eat what they haven’t served themselves from a common serving point or moved with. What are we really becoming! What is causing this environment? #WhatDiedWhenWeLived

As a Senior Consultant, the reason I haven't raised my voice is simple: When the interns are gone, I will gladly show up at 5AM, clerk 80 patients, draw the blood, and run the night calls myself. I am superhuman. Obviously. As a Senior Nursing Officer, the reason I am silent is obvious: I have no problem running three wards alone, fixing lines, tracking vitals, delivering babies, doing the paperwork. I don't need hands. I have dedication. As a Policymaker, the reason I haven't spoken is elegant: The interns are a budget problem I solved by terming the students. My children are not doing internship in Uganda, after all. As a Patient, the reason I haven't complained is clear: Even if the doctor cutting me open has worked 36 hours without food, just cut me open and take the baby out. Hunger sharpens the hands. Everyone knows this. As a Citizen, the reason I am unbothered is rational: None of my children is a medic. I have my pastor. The system runs on miracles. Always has. This policy is brilliant. Let's all stay quiet and watch the magic happen.

Uganda’s proposed medical education and internship reforms deserve careful reconsideration. Medical training and healthcare are pillars of human development, and Makerere Medical School remains one of Africa’s finest institutions, renowned for tropical medicine. Intern doctors bridge critical staffing gaps in our hospitals; withdrawing their financial support risks worsening workforce shortages, delaying training, increasing costs, and weakening healthcare delivery. I urge President Museveni to intervene and protect Uganda’s health sector. @KagutaMuseveni @jessica_alupo @R_Nabbanja @BaryomunsiChris @mkainerugaba
