Sickening to see Dutton posing as PM in Israel while the real PM is at the Garma festival consulting with real Aboriginal people. Remember that Dutton showed his true attitude by walking out of Parliament during the then PM’s apology to them for their ill treatment!

I can’t stop thinking about Carol, Louise & Hannah Hunt & their last moments alive. We urgently need violent & abusive men to be treated as the terrorists that they are - they terrorize, abuse & kill women & children. STOP these ridiculous & distracting male centric narratives. Stop with the ‘nice guy’ & crossbow obsession. FOCUS on the actual problem: male violence to women @YvetteCooperMP @jessphillips Sign the petition if you want this to stop: change.org/p/include-seri… #HerNameWasCarol #HerNameWasLouise #herNameWasHannah #CrimeAnalyst

Older women are represented in only about 10% of data on violence against women. Why older women continue to face risk of abuse ❌They are isolated when violence occurs ❌They face discrimination which can result in their accounts being dismissed unwo.men/YMH150Sj6qe #WEAAD

The Ongoing Struggle for Education and Rights in Afghanistan : For 1000 days, equivalent to over 3 billion hours, girls above the sixth grade have been banned from entering schools and universities in Afghanistan. This grim milestone marks a persistent and severe violation of human rights under the Taliban regime, which continues to oppress women and girls with increasing severity. Since the Taliban's resurgence, the educational prospects for Afghan girls have been drastically curtailed. The ban, which affects thousands of young women eager to pursue their studies, symbolizes a broader campaign against women's rights in the country. This systematic exclusion from educational institutions not only deprives these girls of their right to education but also limits their future opportunities, fostering a cycle of poverty and dependence. In response to this injustice, the Purple Saturdays movement has emerged as a beacon of hope and resistance. With the powerful slogan "Right, Justice, and Freedom," this grassroots initiative works tirelessly to defend women's rights in Afghanistan. Purple Saturdays represent a collective stand against the oppressive measures enforced by the Taliban, advocating for the restoration of educational access and broader human rights for women. The international community, including the United Nations and various human rights organizations, has repeatedly condemned the Taliban's actions. They have issued numerous warnings, calling for an immediate cessation of these criminal activities. Reports and resolutions from these bodies underscore the urgency of protecting women's rights and highlight the severe consequences of the ongoing oppression. Despite these global appeals, the situation in Afghanistan remains dire. The Taliban's repression has not only persisted but has intensified over time. Women face increasing restrictions not only in education but also in other areas of public and private life. The international community's calls for intervention and accountability have, thus far, failed to effect meaningful change on the ground. The plight of Afghan women and girls under the Taliban regime is a critical human rights issue that demands sustained attention and action. The Purple Saturdays movement, along with international advocates, continues to push for an end to these draconian measures. However, it is evident that more robust and coordinated efforts are needed to address and rectify this profound injustice. In conclusion, the 1000-day ban on education for girls above the sixth grade is a stark reminder of the ongoing struggle for women's rights in Afghanistan. As the world watches, it is imperative to amplify the voices of those fighting for right, justice, and freedom, ensuring that the dream of education and equality for Afghan girls becomes a reality. #حق_عدالت_آزادی #Right_Justice_Freedom @heatherbarr1 @SR_Afghanistan @amnestysasia @unwomenafghan @UN_Women @hrw
