The SEC gets five of the eight top 8 national seeds, meaning they'll host super regionals if they advance. There's a reason the conference sends so many teams to the College World Series. Hosting a super regional is one of the biggest causations for Omaha-bound teams.

@BeavsOfSoCal Especially how the tourney seeds W coast teams. Short of a massive upset by a 3 seed in a regional It’s very long odds for the west coast to have more than 1 representative as all reps get seeded in the same super.

@64Analytics 1 of the worst committees ever & it’s bad for NCAAB (in a season w/o a ton of decisions). They devalued conference tournaments, rewarded gaming RPI, (the worst metric) ignored Q1 wins in light of a few bad losses & picked a, spiraling, meh P4 team over a good 44-win team. Awful.

The amount of illogical arguments from the selection chair was astounding. - SOS matters, unless you’re Southern Miss where you didn’t get rewarded - Out of state travel matters unless your teams like Florida who never left the state - Weekends in March are determining factors for teams on the bubble, but weekends in May have little impact for hosting - Mercer didn’t play enough hard teams: except for OSU, Georgia Tech, and Troy

WHAT A SHAM! #Kentucky gets in over several other teams that should have gotten a shot. Stop rewarding disappointing power conference seasons over schools having their best seasons at the midmajor levels.

I agree it’s very expensive compared to workers comp But it would seem material costs, & cheap foreign labor are the primary drivers like most mfg in US. Rewriting the jones act would certainly help on the fringes.

Look at all the 🇺🇸 trade that's now happening without the Jones Act in effect. And the Jones Act fleet is still fully booked. This is all extra shipping, from Americans to Americans, that's happening just because government got out of the way.

@wpmcgee Remember this tourney is the ESPN invitational, if you don’t belong to the ACC or SEC, good luck. For 3 decades, they will seed the tourney with the desire to have 6 of 8 be their product through selection, seeding & bracketing

Why I'm bearish on our top 8 case: Coastal went 26-4 in the league last year, had an #8 RPI, won the tourney, and still was the #13 seed. It's mostly the same people on the committee as it was last year.
