Everyone has different threat models, and it should be the user's responsibility to research and implement OPSEC, especially if they believe to be "at-risk" of running in with law enforcement. We can't promote law evading techniques, nor is it a brilliant marketing strategy to tell everyone they might not be safe using our services, when in reality this only applies to a very small percentage of people using Proton. Most people just want to browse the internet and buy stuff online without being preyed upon by Big Tech's ad surveillance.

VPNs are mostly spying operations to catch deviants the quick and easy way. Or maybe to rob them if you can't find a crime.
