Residency Tip: Your Senior Explained It Once. There Will Be No Season 2. Write. Things. Down. I don't care if you use a notebook, your phone, a napkin, or your own forearm. When your senior teaches you something mid-case - that information was a LIMITED EDITION DROP. It will not be repeated. If you ask the same question twice, your senior won't yell. Worse. They'll just look at you. That quiet disappointment. That "I expected nothing and I'm still let down" face. You'll carry that expression in your nightmares for 3 years. So carry a pocket diary. After every case, every round, every scolding - write the lesson down. Review it before sleep like it's your ex's Instagram. This habit alone makes you top 10% because your competition is out there raw-dogging residency with zero notes and vibes-based medicine. The bar is in hell. Pick it up.

@hubermanlab How does it translate to light therapy lamp units (assuming the appropriate 10K Lux) ?

It’s obvious once you hear it, but the reason to get outside and view sunlight for *longer* on overcast days = less long wavelength light & those days people tend to be indoors more. Get the most you can in the first hour after waking.

Interesting insights here from a domain that is perfectly verifiable and thus should be more vulnerable to AI disruption than the large majority. Argues (by analogy) for a relatively gradual labor force AI disruption.

Ok, for established PIs out there, this is a genuine question (not a brag or complaint). Since I started the lab at UAB things have.. taken off. We have numerous lines of interesting results, and things that I thought would fail… didn’t. result: a lot of data. How do I select?

@ArianeElmas I talk about my immediate circle: - dual income house households are a must - few pay rent (either live with parents or owned home) - increased remittance from expat family members And that's just to make ends meet, no savings for the future.

Lebanon has become incredibly and ridiculously expensive. Most salaries don’t exceed $1,000.. Please explain how do they get by? I’m really interested. For food & daily consumption it could be enough but add electricity, municipalities taxes, one emergency.. What am I missing?

A 2025 Meta-Analysis on intermittent fasting and cognition found it does essentially nothing to your brain performance. Interesting - because I intermittently fast and genuinely feel sharper.
