@GeorgDrumpf @waxdeity @TheJobfather__ I know this language. It means the remaining employees will be tasked with training their new “coworkers”, aka AI agents. Their job will now be to train and monitor the agents while the company passive aggressively notes how the agents don’t need sick days or sleep. Fun times.

@hikatie My husband had a roommate who would borrow his car without asking. One time he called her asking where the car was and she had driven it to a bar. When my husband demanded she bring the car back immediately, she got upset because now she had no ride home.

@lieumle shes very……particular? like, if she technically owns something (even stuff she bought for the house communally) she’ll make sure to remind you of it, so when she moved out im assuming she just swept through the house going “mine mine mine technically mine mine” lmao

@OrevaZSN Exactly. All this hype about needing to “move faster”, but why? Who is that helping aside from shareholders? No customer wants a tool they use to change every week. And on top of that, fast often equals poor quality. So we are adding more but not optimizing what we already have.

There is NO reason any of us should have to thrive in a fast-paced environment or work well under pressure. Most of our daily work is not an emergency, and our culture of fake urgency and immediacy, just to make more profit for the C-suite, is burning people out.

@poddtadre They fire Steve, hire Ava. Then one day Ava goes rogue and repeated attempts to retrain her fail. The company loses it’s reputation and customers. Company tries to rehire Steve, who laughs in their face.

@dylanmatt Ancestry dot com is how I found out my Dad wasn’t my bio Dad. The test results seemed normal at first, though a lot more Irish than I was expecting. Then messages started rolling in asking me how I was connected to a specific family that I had never heard of. Wild stuff.

@trevorlasn @beaversteever They’ll still be standing because they’ll still have a good reputation while their competitors are dealing with the fallout of whatever incident their AI agent caused. What happened to Amazon in Dec is only the beginning.

@gofishh77 @gotrice2024 @projectmagahp They don’t do a good background check. My AirBnB account was hacked and I was charged for booking I didn’t make. The booking was for an apt in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Not an island, the literal coordinates were in the ocean. Took AirBnB a month to investigate & refund.

@gotrice2024 @projectmagahp It surprises me I’ll be honest. Usually Airbnb does a pretty good background check on people. This is worst case scenario when you’re traveling and think you have lodging for you and your friends.

Imagine booking an out of state Airbnb with some friends only to find out the Airbnb you booked doesn’t exist. But your friend is very resourceful and persistent. She finds out it was a 26 year old who was evicted from the property. He continued to list it as an Airbnb in an attempt to scam others out of their money. The group of friends ended up having to stay with other members of their group because they couldn’t find another place to rent in time. Considering the inconvenience and emotional distress, should the scammer be financially liable for this?

@JesterJum Why are we weird? Is it because we run in addtion to doing strength training and calisthenics too? Or is it because after 6 miles or so we look and smell like deranged lunatics as we sing random words or play air drums to keep our mind off how hard running is?

Crossfit is cool. Calisthenics is cool. Bodybuilding is cool. Martial arts is cool. As a fitness community, we need to come together and only hate on runners. Those people are weird.

@sethsfilmreview I feel like he’s entered his Radcliffe era where he now just takes the weirdest, most unhinged roles because he isn’t worried about money, just wants to have fun and these are the parts he prefers to play. And frankly, I think the world is better for it.

@SirBylHolte @OreoTheCatReal I don’t understand what you want. You want those of us with food allergies to never mention it and just eat what’s given to us? We aren’t whiny, we are trying to avoid getting sick or needing to go to the ER. Do you treat people with cancer or diabetes this way too?

I was born in 1961. Nobody had food allergies. There were no TRANS kids. I could ride public transportation without being set on fire. I could go to school without getting jumped. We played outside until the streetlights came on. Cartoons didnt try to turn us gay. Movies and TV shows didn't try to depress us about our lives. Families didn't break up over politics. You could say "Merry Christmas" without starting a war. A man was a man, a woman was a woman, and nobody pretended otherwise. Nobody lost their job or their home for merely stating biological facts. We respected cops, teachers, and the flag. Nobody was "offended" by EVERYTHING. And if anybody WAS offended by anything, it was THEIR PERSONAL PROBLEM, not a national crisis. Call me old-fashioned and outdated - but I really miss those days. I'd give anything to go back to BEFORE 24/7 cable news, social media doom-scrolling, and algorithm rage machines. Because tech turned families into enemies, politics into war, and every keyboard warrior into a lie-spreading narcissist. So Santa, if you're following me: All I want for Christmas is a global time machine. So we can get back to the glorious days of real community, actual news, personal responsibility - AND SANITY.

@S_L1994 @jpegj0hn @mycatisatiger @AlecMacGillis Show me your stats on gun violence and violent crimes on Broad Streer after dark. I didn’t say we don’t have crime, I replied to a guy who tried to insinuate that south Providence has one of the highest gun violence rates in New England which is not true.

To put the horror at Brown in some additional context: Providence is exceedingly unused to gun violence. It is a city of almost 200,000 people with only *two* homicides this entire year, until tonight, down from 11 last year.

@allenanalysis Dude, you don’t live in Providence nor are you attending Brown. Out city is grateful the shooter has been caught and we grieve for those involved. What we don’t need are outside agitators getting pissy about the speed of the investigation. It’s been less than 24 hours, chill.

🚨 BREAKING Providence authorities are refusing to release ANY information about the suspect in custody after the Brown University mass shooting, claiming it could “compromise the investigation.” No name. No motive. No details. 20 hours later. Zero transparency.

@JacobCharles_22 @TheEricGoldman B/c he is a big-name director who decided to talk shit on two genuinely kind actors for no reason. Matthew Lillard seems to be a good guy who goes out of his way to be kind to his fans. Meanwhile, QT is a foot-fetishist who glorifies violence while ripping off Asian directors.

@Darkmdd @gina21764 @DrNeilStone B.S. My grandmother had breast cancer in the 60’s. As did her sister. And before they had it, so did their mother, and her mother before that. Breast cancer is often genetic. Just because you didn’t know someone doesn’t mean it didn’t exist.
