This is a low brow copycat attempt to recycle something I said long ago when the @newvisionwire interviewed me about Betty Nambooze’s “Bad DP” campaign to discredit the party leadership. I answered that her ‘chances of leading DP is as good as her chances of becoming Miss Uganda’. But original thinking is not for everyone. Most people stop at inductive and deductive reasoning but some of us venture beyond and go into abductive reasoning (that is the ability to see what lies in the empty spaces between dots). That is why several weeks ago I was the only one able of see the former Speaker as an “outgoing” Speaker. No amount of deductive and inductive reasoning could lead to that conclusion.

It is alleged that on 14th April 2026 at about 0500 hours, a bus conductor, while loading passengers onto a bus bound for Mbarara, was approached by an unknown passenger who requested to have his luggage transported. As part of routine checks, the conductor asked the passenger to open the bag for inspection, but he declined. The refusal raised suspicion, prompting the conductor to physically check the luggage. In doing so, he detected an object resembling a firearm and immediately alerted authorities. A police task team swiftly responded to the scene. Upon inspection, an AK-47 rifle with an empty magazine and no ammunition was recovered. The weapon had been concealed in a white polythene bag, which was further packed inside a bag. The suspect fled the scene and remains at large. Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend him as investigations continue.

Last night, I visited all the families of the 4 slain children to mourn with them and their loved ones. I honestly can’t describe the somber mood in Ggaba last night. The heartbreak of seeing those children lie in the coffins with knife wounds was too shocking. The other two of the 6 are still in critical condition in a a health unit in Ggaba being closely monitored. The program as of today is having them buried at their ancestral homes, Gomba, Pallisa, Soroti and Gulu. We shall also have joint requiem service for all families on Monday at Ggaba Community church. Teachers of the school also sustained injuries but are being nursed well and we pray for all their recovery. I request Ugandans wherever you are to pray to God to strengthen the family and community of Ggaba in this critical moment as We enter Easter Weekend. 🙏
