Outrageous that 84 junior doctors at @UHSussex are STILL waiting for their full August pay, now over a week late. Doctors are desperate, can’t pay bills, and some are being bailed out by charities. Who will want to work here if they don’t get paid in full and on time?

🚨Somebody knows something and quite frankly I really don’t think we are talking about #owamidavies enough. Owami could’ve been any of our family members. 👉🏽I’m calling on those of you with big twitter platforms that follow me to raise awareness👈🏽. Her family need answers.

I’m an ACCP and every ICU doctor that rotates through brings so much knowledge to the team. I have endless amounts of respect for my medical colleagues and we are in no way trying to take over or pretend we know more.

Just finished an A&E night shift @UHSussex. The reward was a £720 per annum car parking permit. Paying to go to work. As a less than full time doctor I’m being charged the same as full time. Told I’m not entitled to pro-rata reduction. Is this even legal? Thoughts @andyheeps?

*desperate plea* Colleagues - consider the reasons why you are doing an ABG on elderly, frail patient who is at the ceiling of their treatment. What will it offer you in that context? Can you just monitor SpO2? ABGs are highly distressing and frequently unnecessary in the above.

ICU stories (kind of...): An elderly pt was brought to the ED by EMS. Septic/hypothermic/unable to give any history. No obvious source of sepsis. Labs showed AKI/lactate 5/WBC 20k. Received ivf & empiric antibiotics and came to the ICU w this chest x-ray. Any thoughts?

Is there a way community covid swabs can be found on a central database so we can take patients out of isolation sooner?

@johnredwood Starting to loose my mind with this stupidity that throwing kit at a situation is going to help! How many times WE NEED SKILLED STAFF.

Today I am asking the Health Secretary to put in some more hospital beds so we have more NHS capacity. That would be a good use of the extra money.

My wife is shielded and we got the call today. “Can she come immediately for the vaccine?” “Yes of course - do we need to bring anything?” “It would be helpful if you have a pen.” Love the NHS. Socialised medicine free for all who need it, but pens are still the primary currency.
