@pikuma @stevesi Yeah. First floppy was with executables, another one was with help files. In a system without HDD, development required constant switching of floppy drives. But it was cool anyway.

The first option, str.equals("admin"), is safer. If str erroneously happens to be null, the program will fail with NPE, and you'll immediately see that str has a buggy value, so you should fix something in your code above. The second option will silently propagate the erroneous state, possibly causing data loss or incorrect program behavior much later. With the second option, there are chances that the error will be unnoticed during the testing and slip into production, and it will be much harder to eradicate the original problem. Exceptions are your friends, don't avoid them. They are trying their best to tell you that your code has a mistake. Fix the original mistake instead of ignoring it.
Javarevisited@javarevisited

Which one is safer? if (str.equals("admin")) OR if ("admin".equals(str)) Why does this matter in production?

Lately, Claude makes some shocking mistakes. ⟶ Implements overly complex code ⟶ Ignores the codebase's code style ⟶ Removes working code for no reason ⟶ Replaces code that's out of scope from the task at hand It feels like it needs 100% supervision. At this point, you're better off writing everything yourself.

@AlloyLauncher @HukaGigachad If a MAWS cant detect a launch, DIRCM is useless, as it is directional. If you don’t know you’ve been shot at, you cant defend. 101KS-O or similar DIRCM system would not have same the plane if it didn’t detect launch at it.

@HukaGigachad F-35(I) also has MAWS and it’s a very potent system. I suggest you guys don’t run to conclusions and making comparisons of the two airframes, especially since the “incident” with F-35 is still shrouded in mystery

@iPritamX Surprise. Apple gives no boost for basically any applications. It usually promotes whatever famous apps that don't need promotion anymore.

You just don’t know how difficult it actually is I’m building iOS apps from India, targeting the US & EU markets. The App Store gives you zero local boost because you’re not based there. No algorithmic love, no organic visibility. You’re already starting 90% behind before you even launch. Then you try to catch up with Apple Search Ads… RBI policies + Apple straight-up rejecting Indian cards make it almost impossible. Now you’re not just behind, you’re completely invisible while others race ahead. This is the brutal reality for Indian devs chasing global success.
