My full statement: The broadcast ownership cap has long outserved its purporse, and Chairman Carr is right to tee up a vote to eliminate it. Local TV broadcasters compete for the same ad dollars as tech platforms and programmers that can reach 100% of the country without restriction. Yet, local broadcasters are uniquely and arbitrarily hamstrung by the outdated 39% cap, which makes them less competitive and threatens their future viability. The cap is also entirely unnecessary from an antitrust standpoint. Without the cap, the FCC and DoJ will still review broadcast mergers on a case by case basis for public interest and competition concerns. For the better part of a decade, Chairman Carr has talked about how outdated rules on broadcasters could send them the way of the newspaper. With today's announcement, he's taking action to prevent that outcome.

Behind every policy debate on Alzheimer's research are personal stories like these. Must-read thread.
Terry Schilling 🇺🇸@Schilling1776

1/6 Alzheimer’s is a devastating thief — stealing memories, independence, and precious time with loved ones. But today, there’s real hope. Five patients share powerful stories in @FoxNews: Early diagnosis + new anti-amyloid treatments are giving them a fighting chance to slow the disease and reclaim meaningful life.

When we treat homelessness as if it has a one-size-fits-all solution, with a “Housing First” mentality, we fail to actually address the root causes.
Cicero Institute@InstituteCicero

Street homelessness is not simply a housing problem, and approaches that pretend it is are doomed to fail. @dkurtzz explains why: “There are some individuals who are primarily poor, and their main challenge is finding housing security. But that’s not a lot of people who live on the street ... "

Notice the pattern yet? Homelessness spending goes way up. But homelessness gets worse ... because no one holds service providers accountable for outcomes. This has been happening in every major American city for the last two decades.
Austin Justice@AustinJustice

Austin’s budget for homelessness services grew from $6 million in 2014 to $101 million in 2025, with the stated goal of ending homelessness. Have you noticed homelessness decline in those years?

Banning encampments and requiring treatment isn’t callous – this is. x.com/weheartseattle…
We Heart Seattle@weheartseattle

Another heartbreaking policy failure in Seattle. Just walked Cheasty Park with @WeHeartDirector and found makeshift cabins, massive trash piles, hoarded junk, fire damage, and a young girl stuck languishing in a tent. This greenbelt is also a blatant illegal dumping ground. Parks are for people not encampments. Enforce the laws, ban camping in public spaces, and prioritize real treatment over enabling chaos. Our communities and the most vulnerable deserve better. What will it take to reclaim our parks? @SeattleParks @MayorofSeattle @SeattleCouncil @KCCouncil

The Trump administration just opened its first major investigation into H-1B and PERM visa fraud, abuse, and labor trafficking — and @USLaborIG says the subpoenas are already flying. x.com/USLaborIG/stat…
Inspector General Anthony D'Esposito@USLaborIG

H-1B fraud is a public safety issue. It isn’t confined to factories—it reaches doctors’ offices, hospitals, and critical workplaces. Under @POTUS and @VP’s @WHFraudTF, @DOLOIG is working w/@DAGToddBlanche & @DOJFraudDiv to hunt every lead. Investigation is on. 🇺🇸

Defeating fraudsters not only saves taxpayer dollars from abuse — it also helps preserve our healthcare system for future generations. @WHFraudTF will not stop. All gas, no brakes.

More screen time among children—much of which is spent on social media sites—means more chronic disease, more mental health issues, and more exposure to inappropriate content. Parents understandably want limitations.
Evan Swarztrauber@SayreEvan

Support in the U.S. is growing for child social media bans, requiring parental consent to create social media accounts, and requiring age verification before setting up social media accounts.
