Yesterday evening, I was pleased to confirm @DougBurgum to the role of Secretary of the Interior. In my conversations with him, Secretary Burgum outlined his priority of fostering a working relationship between the @Interior and the State of Alaska based on open dialogue and partnership. I look forward to working with him as we advance responsible resource development, manage our vast public lands, and ensure the trust responsibilities to Native Americans are honored.

Update: The federal Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has rescinded Monday evening's memo that ordered a pause on most federal grants, loans, and other financial assistance. Some projects may still be impacted by prior executive orders, and we are seeking clarity on what exactly remains in limbo. Alaskans, please be in touch with my office if there are still projects and services that are impacted by any continued holds on funding.

An executive order cannot supersede a statute. Congress has found ByteDance a danger to national security and SCOTUS has upheld it. Trump’s job as of noon tomorrow is to “take care that the laws be faithfully executed.” That means enforcing the ban until ByteDance sells TikTok.
