Parked my primary Diesel car inside to use Creta Electric for city tasks today 92% charged Will be travelling for 3-4 hours in heavy traffic, parked with AC on at some places. Typical realistic use for a long day. Family loves it so… Let’s see how it goes. Note: It feels satisfying & great when you charge at home. Feels like you have a lot of cash in your pocket. Same feeling.

Mahindra XEV 9S - Drive Impressions after driving it for around 80 km and two hours, 17% battery consumed. ✅ A solid package with Practicality with 5+2 seats, INGLO born-ev platform, sober exterior looks with fine road presence and excellent interior cabin overall feel. Colour theme looks classy. No ugly bits anywhere. This car has a sense of maturity. ✅ Suspension feels balanced most of the times, bodyroll felt controlled in ‘Default’ mode, extra tyre profile on 18 inch wheel help in comfort. It’s a 7 seater so suspension is slightly differently tuned as compared to BE 6. I liked this one more. Tested at upto 110 kmph on a highway and it felt in excellent control. It feels slightly more softer on ‘Range’ mode. ✅ Outright performance in ‘Everyday’ & ‘Sports’ mode as expected with 380 nm torque machine with 282 bhp power. I loved how it drove in ‘Range’ mode. It felt like a 1.5 Turbo Engine, as a sedate driver it’s a win win. More range but still excellent performance when you throttle slightly hard. ✅ Steering feels very light at low speeds, turning radius felt less, weigh up nicely at around 70-80 kmph. Feels good to hold & looks nice in one colour (black). ✅ NVH levels felt well controlled, cabin feels silent and premium while driving. Ambient lighting is tastefully done & Harman Kardon speakers adds value in the experience. Wind noise become slightly prominent only at above 110 kmph ✅ 360 deg camera, blind spot monitoring, blind spot alert & Adaptive Cruise Control with lane keep assist felt very helpful on the go. 3 Regen levels are useful, boost mode & one pedal drive dedicated buttons available on steering itself. ✅ Instrument cluster fonts are easy to read & understand, settings are there where can control the brightness, switch off other 2 screens, assistance mode view is better than BE6 that I drove last week. SonicSuite (fake exhaust note) is a good addition but it felt better in BE6. Bass of music was better in BE6 too. ✅ Brakes are progressive keeping in mind it’s a family 7 seater, in BE6 it was quick & instant. Different target customers, different behaviour. Overall control at 80-90 kmph after braking felt great, slightly nosedive was observed. ✅ Great to have 7 airbags in top variant, auto hold, Hill Descent Control, height adjustable seat-belts, 4 discs, multi link suspension, TC, ESC, Panoramic Sunroof… Charge it at home with 79 kWh charger, life sorted :) A few things which aren’t in line with my personal taste, it can be subjective ⚠️ Stalks behind the steering felt hidden, you should be able to see these stalks with icons while driving & holding the steering. ⚠️ HUD glass reflection on windscreen slightly bothers at some angles. ⚠️ 3rd row lacks good thigh support & is best suited for light weight adults under 5’8” and no space for luggage either when all 3 rows are in use. ⚠️ Center console Piano finish might attract swirl marks with time, I like matte finish more personally. It actually will suit the cabin too. On grab handles, piano finish looks great here and handles are insanely solid. No creaks, no matter how much hard you grip. ⚠️ AC controls including seats ventilation for front seats is inside the screen, I had to stop my car to operate them :( ⚠️ Panel gap between tail lamp & quarter panel is slightly bigger as compared to otherwise in totality. ⚠️ Alloy wheel design isn’t exciting. ⚠️ I was switching off lane-assist from steering but it kept on activating again at higher speeds, may be some setting I didn’t know. Overall a top package, winner written all over with price starting from 19.95 to 29.45 lakh (ex-showroom) and battery packs 59, 70 and 79 kWh available with 15 years (lifetime) warranty & unlimited km.
