Processed meats have officially been classified as Group 1 carcinogens by the International Agency for Research on Cancer, placing them in the same category as tobacco and asbestos in terms of the strength of scientific evidence linking them to cancer.
Foods such as bacon, ham, hot dogs, and sausages have been strongly associated with colorectal cancer. Researchers say the risk is largely connected to the way these meats are processed. Methods like curing, smoking, and salting can create harmful compounds including nitrosamines, which may damage DNA over time.
Preservatives such as nitrates and nitrites, along with high temperature cooking methods like grilling or frying, can also increase the formation of carcinogenic chemicals.
Health experts stress that this does not mean eating a slice of bacon carries the same overall danger as smoking cigarettes, but it does mean the evidence that processed meat can cause cancer is considered conclusive. Many specialists recommend reducing intake of processed meats and choosing alternatives such as fish, beans, or other plant based proteins more often.
For people who continue eating red or processed meat, cutting back on portion size and frequency may help lower long term cancer risk and support overall health and longevity.

A free game on Steam called Beyond The Dark contained hidden malicious software.
The game originally started as a simple title named Rodent Race. Someone hijacked the developer’s account and quickly changed the name, images, and other details. This tricked Steam, which does not verify updates.
The malware was hidden in a file called UnityPlayer.dll. The game often crashes when run, but the malware keeps operating in the background.
It searches for crypto wallet extensions in Chrome, such as MetaMask, connects to a malicious server, and downloads tools to steal passwords, browser data, and cryptocurrency. Some reports say it may also steal Roblox information.
YouTuber Eric Parker discovered the malware and made a video about it. Steam then removed the game completely.
If you downloaded or played it:
>Delete the game immediately.
>Run a full virus scan with updated antivirus software.
>Change all important passwords, especially for email, browsers, and crypto accounts.
>Check your crypto wallets for missing funds and transfer any remaining balance to a new secure wallet on another device.
This is a common tactic on Steam now

An indie horror game on steam is being updated to target users with malware. Knew something like this was coming but it still sucks

PSA: Beyond The Dark (APPID: 3393800) on Steam is malware. Hidden in the unitydll is a dropper which then downloads more malware from a C2 based on what programs and chrome extensions you have (targeting crypto / defi wallets).

a game that was genuinely loved. Very Positive reviews. record player counts. people were excited.
then they read the EULA.
- you don't OWN the game, you have a LICENSE that can be revoked anytime
- they collect your personal data and device information
- streaming and recording require disclaimers
- mods you create inside their game - they have legal claims over
- VPN use is banned
- disputes go to arbitration in California only
- they can change ANY of these terms whenever they want without asking you
people started requesting refunds not because the game is bad - but because they finally READ what they agreed to.
the game industry has been doing this for years. Subnautica 2 is just the first time enough people paid attention.

I’m cancelling my party animals collab for my debut, and I’ll be refunding the game.
Someone in my community brought this to my attention (thankfully) and I’ll now be switching this game to REPO or something close.
