@TGwenze78034 @CrimeWatchZW People end up paying because they're busy, and don't want to waste time going to the courts The police are at their work, can afford time going to court several times, and personally lose nothing even if they lose in court, but your time and the inconvenience is never compansated

Hi, I would like to know the purpose of buying temporary number plates for a vehicle before leaving the port of entry. The reason I am asking is because the ZRP officers told me that these temporary number plates are not recognised, yet we are required to buy them and they are issued with a validity period of 14 days. I imported a vehicle from Japan and, after completing all the necessary paperwork at Kariba Border Post, I was instructed to buy temporary number plates for the vehicle. I complied and purchased the temporary number plates, which were valid for 14 days. I drove to Harare that same evening and arrived home at around 3:00 a.m. The following morning, while on my way to VTS to have my vehicle cleared and obtain a Certificate of Location, which had not been completed at the border post, I was stopped by a police officer. This happened on Tuesday, 9 June 2026, at approximately 8:10 a.m. along Simon Mazorodze Avenue, just after Chicken Slice, near what I believe is Birmingham Road. The officer who stopped me impounded my vehicle, stating that it had no number plates. I explained that I had temporary number plates that had been issued at Kariba Border Post the previous day and were still valid. I showed him the temporary number plates, but he said they were of no use and refused to accept my explanation. I was escorted to Mbare Police Station, where my vehicle was impounded. I asked to see the Officer-in-Charge of Traffic, but she was not available. I was then attended to by the Assistant Officer-in-Charge, who listened to my explanation, examined my documents, and instructed that my vehicle be released. He was very understanding and appeared satisfied that my documents were in order. However, while I was waiting for the paperwork to be completed, the Officer-in-Charge arrived. She asked why I was waiting at the charge office, and I explained what had happened. She immediately stated that my vehicle had to remain impounded. I showed her my documents, but she refused to listen and called the Assistant Officer-in-Charge who had authorised my release, instructing him that the vehicle should remain impounded. After further discussion, she informed me that I had to pay a fine for failure to register the vehicle. Having no other option, I paid the USD 30 fine. My concern is that I was fined for failure to register my vehicle despite being in possession of valid temporary number plates that had been issued less than 24 hours earlier and still had 13 days remaining before expiry. I would therefore like an explanation of the purpose of temporary number plates. If they are issued and valid for 14 days, why are motorists required to purchase them if ZRP officers do not recognise them? If the temporary number plates are legally valid, why was my vehicle impounded and why was I fined for failure to register the vehicle while displaying those valid temporary plates? @PoliceZimbabwe

@FlavianMashate @HardTalkZw Mkoma, the problem is Zimra will just come back to punish only to the motorist, without taking any action against its employees who facilitated the less duty paid. So the Zimra employees continue doing the corrupt deals knowing very well that they'll never be held accountable.

@HardTalkZw Your post is misleading and totally wrong, ZIMRA is not corrupt as it has set out guidelines and procedures but the Employees are the ones who are abusing their positions for personal gain, we citizens pay these employees corruptly for our own personal gain, paying less duties

This is one of the most corrupt service providers. Vehicles are cleared, registered, and issued with number plates, yet owners are later stopped on the road and told that duty was not paid. Such a situation reflects a shocking level of incompetence and mismanagement.

@SkySportsPL Admitting that you're wrong is fine, but the unfortunate thing is that the results from that error still stand. Some teams get relegated because of those errors, and others unfairly benefit. There must be serious consequences for referees who commit such errors especially VAR.

@Cantonadevils However you want to sanitise Amorim's play, we still lost some easy games that we should've won. If he'd been allowed to continue in that trajectory, Man U would've been fighting with Spurs now to survive relegation.

Under Amorim; Bryan Mbeumo 7 goals and 2 assists Amad diallo 2 goals and 2 assists Matheus Cunha 6 goals and 1 assist. Sesko 2 goals and 0 assist. (Went on injury) Under Carrick. Bryan Mbeumo 2 goals and 1 assist Amad diallo 0 goal and 0 assist Matheus Cunha 3 goals and 1 assist Benjamin Sesko 7 goals and 1 assist. Under Ruben Amorim, everyone was a contributor, it was more of a team performance cause there is a system of play. Under Michael Carrick, some players are left out, it's more of individual performance and Bruno is back to being our only source of creativity. We are going into next season, without Casemiro set piece threat, goals which had saved us points. Carrick has made our attackers look lost in his no style of play, instead of our attackers to be firing and being creators and goal scorers, they more like a dummy waiting for Bruno ball.

Amorim left Manchester United 13 points behind Arsenal… after all the noise, all the blame and all the “he was the problem” takes, we’re now 12 points behind Arsenal. Maybe the issues at this club go deeper than just one manager.

@UTDavey I agree players have to work hard to earn a position in the team. However I blame a coach who benches a star player for no valid reason and puts in worse players and go on to lose games with his not so good favoured players.

After watching Bayern vs. PSG, I have to ask: Have we actually hired "bad" managers for 10 years, or is the system at Manchester United designed to make them fail? The constant cycle of hiring and firing managers suggests the problem is a broken system, not just "bad coaches." When a club sacks a manager to please unhappy players or players that can't actually defend the clubs badge - they destroy the discipline needed to build a winning team. Look at Mikel Arteta at Arsenal. He showed no fear in selling big names like Aubameyang and Ozil to fix the team's culture. Even when results were poor, the board and fans eventually trusted his process, and now their Fans are enjoying the massive payoff. Similarly, Jurgen Klopp lost several finals at Liverpool before winning anything. Because the club had faith in his vision and let him build his own squa. He, Klopp eventually won the Premier League and the Champions League. At PSG, Ousmane Dembélé knows that if he doesn't work hard, Luis Enrique will bench him. That is real accountability. Enrique even moved on from stars like Mbappé without any drama because there is a shared vision. At United, when a manager benches a star player, the media often creates a negative narrative that confuses the fans. We see former players like Gary Neville using their platform to tear down managers, while fans sometimes support "player power" over team spirit. It makes me wonder why every successful coach hired by Manchester United struggles and eventually gets thrown under the bus by the players. A winning system requires a manager with the total backing to bench anyone who refuses to track back or meet the required work rate. We must come together to back the next manager and support a long-term vision; that is the only way to move United back to where we belong.

Just days after nurses protested over low salaries and poor working conditions, a group calling itself Health Ambassadors for ED has shown its support for the Constitutional Amendment (No. 3) Bill. The group submitted a petition with 62,000 signatures to Parliament, backing the proposed law and calling for it to be approved.

@BMutebuka @bbmhlanga @HStvNews The critical thinkers thought they're just pulling down Chamisa by supporting Tshabangu, but actually didn't critically think of what the end game was. I'm sure every reasonable mind would like to Defend the Constitution, but we mustn't pretend like they didn't mess up at first.

This is an interview that was conducted by @bbmhlanga of @HStvNews. In it, Tshabangu clearly identifies Biti, Ncube & Hwende as amongst those he was working with. Ncube later expressly stated that they knew Tshabangu in a CCC presser. To the best of my knowledge, there was no rebuttal from Biti or litigation from any of them seeking to hold Tshabangu to account for that claim on account of it being a falsehood. Tshabangu had a FAZ team that he was working with to carry pit his assignment. We know the damage he did & the objective he was pursuing was Agenda 2030. So there is a clear nexus there. Given this development, the criticism that some of us have levelled at the door of those that are now claiming to fight in defence of the Constitution appears to be reasonably justified & proportionate. It's for them to allay our fears, not the other way round. There is nothing controversial about this. Democratic societies have to be comfortable with robust debates! Credibility, clarity & consistency matters, especially where the moral high ground is being claimed!

In the aftermath of Constitution Defenders Forum convenor Tendai Biti's arrest for opposing the contentious current constitutional amendments to extend President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s term and change the political system, United Kingdom-based lawyer Brighton Matebuka, a pro-Nelson Chamisa commentator, says he is struggling to balance sympathy for the former Finance minister and reconcile it with his alleged support for Sengezo Tshabangu who destroyed the opposition CCC through recalls, allowing Zanu PF to have a two-thirds majority to support its 2030 Agenda. Matebuka, who often highlights Chamisa’s efforts to challenge Zanu PF while navigating internal opposition contradictions, writes: The Biti saga is a delicate one, for a delicate balance has to be struck between condemning the regime for predictably targeting & persecuting him for opposing Agenda 2030 while steadfastly seeking to hold him to account for how he behaved at the height of Tshabangu's shenanigans It did happen, it is damning, can't be erased, & enormously contributed towards ED attaining a two thirds majority which effectively sealed Agenda 2030. It's spilt milk. I don't mean to be harsh or insensitive, let alone come across that way. If it seems so, it's down to my professional training & the hand I have been dealt with. I simply have a lump on my throat. I have tried to swallow it, but it stubbornly refuses to embrace gravity. I know what I saw & can't unsee it. I know what I heard too. I also know how things now look & the potential for gas lighting. For a seasoned political veteran, it's difficult to accept that this is attributable to an innocent lapse in judgment or rank naivety. It simply went on for far loo long. I am inclined to be persuaded by the fact that the likely dominant motive was revenge, fuelled by the red mist, after feelings of being sidelined by Chamisa. At that point, it appears as if Biti was unconcerned about the gravity of the wider political consequences beyond toppling Chamisa. That means that he didn't care whether or not ED would be the ultimate beneficiary, which was reasonably foreseeable at the time. That leaves us to dissect the significance of his current contribution. In my respectful view, this is likely down to a combination of a guilty conscience, as this affords him an opportunity to "cleanse" his image, & perhaps potentially undisclosed political interests. I accept I could be wrong, but I am yet again unable to locate a more compelling & plausible account. I apologise to those that I have offended unintentionally. I had found the urge to address this too immense to ignore, so I chose to be vulnerable & let it pour out unfiltered! The state of uneasiness was simply too much! Adieu!

He @matinyarare mobilized 'investors' in South Africa, promising them easy deals and shortcuts. Upon arrival in Zimbabwe, they was reminded to follow procedures, including getting a ZIDA license and investor permit – easily done if papers are in order. He made his 'investors' overstay, they were arrested, and deported. Back in SA, the 'investors' asked why he misled them. That's how our relationship with him ended. He forgot even Presidents sign documents when they visit. Next time, be clear with investors – no shortcuts in Harare. All the best as you join the losers bandwagon!!!!!!!!! FROM INBOX | The headmaster from Rujeko Primary School is exploiting parents by forcing extra lessons and charging unapproved fees. Learners are now attending school from Monday to Sunday, raising an important question: is this really for the children’s benefit, or for the school’s gain? Despite reports being made to the DSI and PED, no action has been taken. Even more concerning, some pupils were stopped from writing weekend NAPH tests because their parents had not paid these fees. This situation is unacceptable. Children need time to rest, not to be overloaded with school every day. This points to possible exploitation and even corruption, with disadvantaged families suffering the most. Authorities must act urgently. This appears to violate Circular 1 of 2020 and Policy P.35 of 2018. Our children must be protected. @MoPSEZim

This lady said her views, which is what we encourage… The 90 days are for that! These discussions are better than a YES/NO referendum vote! x.com/AfrikenBoi/sta… But her argument is premised on LITTLE UNDERSTANDING of the proposed system. The system is NOT NEW, it was used in the 1980 & 1985 elections in Zimbabwe. It was only changed in 1990. It’s also the system used in the majority of countries in the world including South Africa, Australia, Canada, India, the UK. Even the United States doesn’t have a Direct Election of the President, they use the electoral college system. The Presidential Candidates will be known from the beginning because they come from the political parties that Zimbabweans vote for… There is no disconnection between the MP & the President, their relationship is forged and cemented during the election campaigns & on the election day. There is a reason this system is used in the most established democracies: They realised it brings STABILITY & encourages unity. In future, we will see Coalition Governments in Zimbabwe… Political parties can form alliances to elect a president of their choice. This is now the Case in South Africa where the ANC & the DA teamed up to make Ramaphosa the President. Because of this, politics will be MUCH LESS toxic! The voter’s power to choose a President is FIRMLY protected because the voters choose the President’s Electors… if you want a ZANU PF President you vote for ZANU PF MPs.
