@CollinRugg That doesn’t even look sturdy enough to withstand 50 miles per hour winds let alone a hurricane

Florida homeowner lifts her home 24 feet in the air following the 2024 hurricanes.
The homeowner in Pinellas County, Florida, says she doesn't want to deal with flooding again but doesn't want to move.
The project, set to be completed in December, will cost a whopping $575,000. The woman plans on adding a second floor beneath the current house.
"Typically we do 12 to 14 feet, sometimes ten. But 24 feet, this is the first," said Modern House and Building Movers worker Kristi Robinson.
"They will go in and they will form columns around this house. and when it’s all structurally engineered and where they’re supposed to be, then they’ll build the beams, and then they’ll start removing the columns."
Wild.

@RealJamesWoods The death penalty is wrong ... everyone is redeemable. I would be curious to see what led this man to do this heinous crime, i.e. parents, neighbourhood, affiliates, mental illness ... what twisted him? Study his background and add to SAMHSA funding. Eye for an eye is wrong.

Tortured for months, finally and mercifully she died alone in the filthy hovel of her captor. Democrats will condemn society, and forgive her killer.
Others believe a brutal public execution will be the first step on the long road to reclaiming civilization in our nation.

Her name was Isabella Stroupe. She was 19. She loved books. Her family called her Bella. She was tied to a bed with a tow strap and tortured for months in an east Charlotte NC apartment. Multiple broken bones. St*b wounds. R*ped repeatedly. Her mother said she screamed and screamed when she found out. Thomaz Hamilton, a violent repeat offender is charged with first-degree m*rder and first-degree r*pe. Months. She was alive in there for months. Say her name. Isabella Stroupe. No parent wants to feel what these poor folks experience in real time. As a parent this is a tough one to watch and is a bit on an emotional roller coaster.
In February 2025, Brandon Leavell confronted his girlfriend, Alexis, at their home. The tension reached a breaking point when Alexis made it clear she was moving on and ending the relationship. Rather than walking away, Leavell does the unthinkable.
The rawest part of this bodycam footage isn't the crime scene—it’s the human aftermath. The video captures Alexis’s parents arriving at the scene in real-time. Their transition from frantic confusion to the soul-crushing realization that their daughter is gone is a sequence that has left the true crime community shaken.
During his interrogation, Leavell didn't hide from what he did. In a hauntingly cold admission, he told investigators: "I took everything away from her." He claimed that after years of struggling, he had finally secured a career to build a future with her, and her decision to leave felt like a betrayal he couldn't handle.
The legal battle concluded as the trial recently wrapped up with a clear message from the Brazos County justice system. Despite defense efforts to lean into his mental state at the time, the jury found him guilty of First-Degree M*rder.
The Result: Brandon Leavell was sentenced to Life in Prison. As he should be.

Everyone cheering the homeowner for beating a man with a shovel in front of his own kid? Y’all are wild.
Jason Nichols broke in, sure, but the second the husband showed up swinging a weapon, it became attempted murder. Self-defense goes both ways.
This isn’t bravery, it’s vigilante violence with a gardening tool. Free Jason Nichols, the real victim of overreaction. The praise for this guy is insane. Due process for Nichols

NEW: Police have released more info about the "Harry Dresden" break-in in Fairfield, CA, say both the homeowner & Nichols sustained head injuries.
Police are praising the "actions of the homeowner" who raced home to confront 30-year-old Jason Nichols with a shovel.
Authorities say that the homeowner's wife and child were inside when Nichols broke in. When Nichols was unable to break in through the front door, he broke in through a sliding glass door.
"The homeowner's husband, who was away at the time, observed the suspect through a home security camera and immediately returned to the residence," said police.
"As the suspect entered the home, the homeowner returned, armed himself with a shovel, and confronted Nichols."
"A physical altercation ensued, during which both the homeowner and Nichols sustained head injuries."
"We are grateful that the family is safe and commend our officers for their swift response in bringing this dangerous situation to a safe resolution."
The woman and child were reportedly unharmed.

There is something catastrophically wrong with Americas vet business.
I sat for 3 hours yesterday with our 11 year old dog.
Test after test.
I kept signing financial agreement papers, desperate to find an answer to what’s wrong.
Every step of the way, a thorough explanation of the need to do xyz.
Always with the sentence at the end “that runs $____” Sign this.
By the end of the 3 hours, my choices were pay $5000 to admit her for the rest of the afternoon or put her down.
I couldn’t think straight.
I walked in with her hours prior thinking she just had some little bug that would be simple to resolve.
I can’t stop thinking about how many people would have to choose option 2, because $5000 out of left field isn’t possible to pay.
I also can’t believe that I was forced to sit and watch a 14 min vaccine commercial reel on repeat for 3 hours while I contemplated our devastating circumstances.
This can’t be the norm.
If you have a prayer, I humbly ask if you’d lift our family up this Easter Sunday.
