@kphillips227 @AndrewGbanchory @CrossCountryUK @tfwrail I won't have that!!! Tfwrail is cattle class useless
Birmingham, England 🇬🇧 English

Appalling again @CrossCountryUK Longest train journey in the UK from Aberdeen to Plymouth, no trolley service on a rammed train that lasts for 12 hours, no sight of a train guard. Contemptuous way to treat customers.
English

@nurseyphil @CrossCountryUK It’s the “we don’t care” attitude. Hard to get anyone to genuinely apologise or take anything seriously.
English

@AndrewGbanchory @CrossCountryUK Typical cross country - trains too short, not fit for purpose - pathetic TOC response!
English

@ninesecondmara1 @NEFootyEnthuse @GemmaBigemma36 @CrossCountryUK @TPExpressTrains Yes, I try to take public transport for my work as I tend to go longish distances quite frequently, but it gets really frustrating. For shorter distances, there’s little incentive.
English

@NEFootyEnthuse @AndrewGbanchory @GemmaBigemma36 @CrossCountryUK @TPExpressTrains I don't use trains that often, in recent years I've tried to start using them the odd time when I can't be bothered driving but it's been a rude awakening & a massive lesson on quite how broken the entire network is, overcrowding & lateness you now accept as the absolute norm!
English

@NEFootyEnthuse @ninesecondmara1 @GemmaBigemma36 @CrossCountryUK @TPExpressTrains Lack of choice for me. ScotRail, LNER and this CrossCountry effort. No others.
English

@ninesecondmara1 @AndrewGbanchory @GemmaBigemma36 @CrossCountryUK Whenever I used to travel to our Leeds office, I always booked @TPExpressTrains over @CrossCountryUK
Their rolling stock is awful yet they still continue to use them. In the 60’s and 70’s if stock was no good they got rid. Time to go voyagers. 👋
English

@tedgushlow @CrossCountryUK Yes, you’ve got a good point, they are. I guess it doesn’t excuse a lack of facilities such as catering and, absolutely, toilets. I use trains a lot, there are similar delays and overcrowding on other franchises, but at least LNER and Avanti usually have a working food service.
English

@AndrewGbanchory @CrossCountryUK I'm not necessarily defending it, but unfortunately these long XC routes are also local services for a lot of places. Sheffield to York for example is XC only if you want direct. This leads to the trains being rammed and the genuine long distance users getting inconvenienced
English

@HigginsAlan @CrossCountryUK And we should be able to rely on our trains for economic, social and environmental travel choices.
English

@AndrewGbanchory @CrossCountryUK It's the worst train company in the country and it's got a lot of competition for that every time I've got on one it's been overcrowded,late and no toilets every single time
English

@premierinn what time do your kitchens close? Long journey from Aberdeen to Torquay, arrived 8.20pm to be informed the chef wouldn’t make any more food, although pre-booked. Topped off a grand day, not!
English

@AndrewGbanchory @GemmaBigemma36 @CrossCountryUK Believe me it's not a one off, it's almost every time I use a train I encounter either lateness or overcrowding, I've tried going later in the day & that has also backfired terribly as well
English

@JimmynotP @IanFL @CrossCountryUK Take a bow for that 👏. Away to buy a thermos and some stale bread for the return trip 😂
English

@AndrewGbanchory @IanFL @CrossCountryUK Andrew, he’s trolling, you’ve had a bad enough day, without reading his tosh, in 1874: The Midland Railway became the first to attach Pullman dining cars on long-distance services. 1930s: Buffet cars were successfully introduced, offering a more casual and affordable alternative
English

@ninesecondmara1 @CrossCountryUK It’s a great use of public money isn’t!?
English

@AndrewGbanchory @CrossCountryUK Strange you mention Stonehaven, last month I was on a train that broke down between Montrose & Stonehaven 🤣 That was yet another journey where I got the full fare refunded due to being more than an hour late
English

@smellygbookworm @CrossCountryUK That’s right, terrible. What an absolute disgrace for the elderly lady.
English

@AndrewGbanchory @CrossCountryUK I was on it today. Only
One toilet working too… for the whole train. Thankfully got on at Leeds and left at derby. I felt for the lady next to me… 85 years old and expected to deal with that!
English

@AndrewGbanchory @CrossCountryUK Standard reply incoming...
- 'We're really sorry but we don't really give a fuck'
English

@ninesecondmara1 @CrossCountryUK You’re right. I’ve had to get taxis from Glasgow to Stonehaven before at an outrageous price as well. Even when it’s covered, it’s still not magic money that pays for it
English

@AndrewGbanchory @CrossCountryUK 2 weeks ago Avanti cancelled 2 of 3 Glasgow-Euston trains and effectively stuck all 3 train loads on the one remaining service, it then only went as far as Preston, it was late & I got a hotel & ended the abject misery that was inflicted on me, this stuff is the norm!!
English

@richardgoodal12 @CrossCountryUK Good point. Should we get rid of them then?
English

@AndrewGbanchory @CrossCountryUK How would a guard make your journey better?
English

@AndrewGbanchory @Mozpms4 @CrossCountryUK To be honest, I agree entirely with comments about overcrowding & lack of catering.
Catering is something Cross Country can manage.
Overcrowding is something else as they simply don’t have enough rolling stock to cater for the demand. Blame the DfT/politicians for that
English

@IanFL @CrossCountryUK So why not simply have no catering at all? If everyone took a flask and sandwich, there would be no point. How about customer expectations, experience and choice?
English
@AndrewGbanchory @CrossCountryUK When I was young we had these things called flasks and sandwiches …
English

@TonyMar18591336 @Mozpms4 @CrossCountryUK No. There wasn’t one to be found. It’s not a game of hide and seek. Thought I paid for my ticket. Glad to see you’re an understanding chap.
English

@AndrewGbanchory @Mozpms4 @CrossCountryUK Bullshit. The trains do not operate without a guard. And if 2 sets/units/parts each one requires a guard to be present (hence why some are ‘empty’ at times when a guard is not available).
English

@AndrewGbanchory @CrossCountryUK You can probably count the number of people who do the whole journey on one hand.
English

@AndrewGbanchory @Mozpms4 @CrossCountryUK Normally found at the front or the back of the train. A maximum of 5 coaches away.
