Hey @SW_Help . 1935 WAT to Weymouth cancelled. Was early enough to just get 1905 but guard said we had to have exact ticket if advance so I had to get off. What is the point? Tried to avoid a delay repay but due to lack of joined up info i’m now left at WAT. Utterly ridiculous.

@scott_expert I think it's in case the shop workers mistake regular beer for alcohol free beer. They might see a stripe of blue or the number 0 and think it's fine but it could be some advert on a blue banner or "zero sugar" etc.

In today's edition of "It makes no sense", can someone explain why I need to be verified as over 18 to buy 0% alcohol free beer? I don't get asked my age if I buy a bottle of water or a can of Coke.
I'm genuinely curious if someone can explain the logic.

My autistic daughter has a few specific interests, and repeatedly watching her favourite documentaries about these interests on YouTube is one of the main way she is able to emotionally regulate and ground herself. Are the government going to ban that?

Do unis now require so many GCSEs?
If you/your child were confident about high predicted A level grades, why not do just a bare minimum GCSEs?
That is effectively what many academically gifted kids did in the past

@mxgbx They used to have detector vans with fake aerials and satellites on the outside to make it look like they were tracking TV signals, but really it was just blokes in the back with binoculars looking through people's windows for TVs.

@AndrewGbanchory @CrossCountryUK I'm not necessarily defending it, but unfortunately these long XC routes are also local services for a lot of places. Sheffield to York for example is XC only if you want direct. This leads to the trains being rammed and the genuine long distance users getting inconvenienced

Appalling again @CrossCountryUK Longest train journey in the UK from Aberdeen to Plymouth, no trolley service on a rammed train that lasts for 12 hours, no sight of a train guard. Contemptuous way to treat customers.

@uncreativetom I think they just have to check absolutely everything. I was once sat with some train drivers who were off work and they were saying about having to separately qualify for the two different flirt trains even though they said they were exactly the same to drive.

Maybe I’m missing something but can someone explain why a mainline working with one 80X series train (Aurora) doesn’t automatically mean it works with another like this Azuma? Why does specific testing need to be done?

@gibarilla Every building has heating and it's reasonable to require employers to keep it working. Most buildings don't have cooling

How would this actually work? I get the idea of requiring certain facilities (building design, AC, etc). But nothing works perfectly. Is the idea that if the temperature breaches the cap everyone goes home? Seems impractical. And also the workers' homes might be even hotter
