As I predicted some time ago, Ed Miliband will be our next PM. The pitch is being rolled with tripe like this from Gaby Hinsliff: ‘Miliband is the cabinet’s resident deep thinker at a time when big ideas are suddenly back’ theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

🚨NEW: In the middle of an energy supply crisis, Ed Miliband has just stalled the Jackdaw North Sea gas field project AGAIN. Jackdaw could be up and running in time for winter, producing enough gas to heat 1.6 million British homes. However, Ed’s priority is whether it fits into Net Zero and our international climate treaties. Never mind that we would be using higher emission imports of foreign gas if we don’t use Jackdaw. Imports don’t count in our emissions targets, so it’s a sneaky get around for Ed which will make us colder, poorer and less secure. Bad for the environment and for our economy.

Ed Miliband’s Net Zero fantasy is now hitting reality. We’re on the brink of importing salt, a resource Britain has produced for generations. This isn’t climate leadership. It’s industrial self sabotage. And it’s our children who’ll inherit the cost.

The factory that produces half of Britain’s salt could soon be killed by Net Zero. For the first time in history, England is set to be a net importer of the world’s most important mineral. This will be catastrophic for UK manufacturing, says Ruari McCallion buff.ly/M8o8O6P

Not this nonsense again! Repeat after me: Differences within a class can easily be distinguished from the differences between classes that justify the existence of those distinct classes. This is very simple.

Keir Starmer says he "beat himself up" for appointing Peter Mandelson. He adds that he made a mistake. Boris made a mistake by holding a piece of cake in Tupperware, in his workplace on his birthday but you still called for him to resign. You’re finished. Just go.

I don't know what happened to Morgan McSweeney's phone. But after another day of deflection and deceit I know this for certain. Keir Starmer is lying his posterior off about it > Daily Mail > dailymail.co.uk/debate/article…

@thatginamiller It’s *structural failure* thanks to political decisions by the current government that are antithetical to the growth they promised. They have Zero idea due to lack of real world experience. Hence revised figures.

0.7% growth. 4% inflation. Bottom of the G20. And Politicians Are Still Not Being Honest About Brexit! BREAKING: The OECD just gave Britain the biggest growth downgrade of any #G20 economy UK growth slashed to 0.7% - #inflation revised UP to 4% - nearly the highest in the G7 This is not just a bad forecast - it's structural failure. 🧵 1/6

The current state of the Royal Navy: 2 aircraft carriers — neither operational. 6 Type 45 destroyers (our most powerful warships) — one operational (in Cyprus). 7 Type 23 frigates (less powerful, much older) — three operational 5 Astute class nuke-powered subs — one operational (in Arabian Sea?). Surely those responsible for this appalling state of unreadiness (a national embarrassment if ever there was one)— political, civilian and military — should be fired/charged. Their incompetence has effectively left us without a navy. Quite an achievement for an ancient island nation.

If the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade of Africans which began in the 17th and ended in the 19th centuries is the “gravest crime against humanity,” then what do we call the Trans-Saharan Slave Trade of Africans which began in the 7th century and has never ended? And why is there no UN resolution about the latter? Asking for the millions still enslaved throughout the Arab/Islamic world.

Exclusive from @oliver_wright Sir Keir Starmer’s claim that Britain’s petrol retailers are “profiteering” from the war in the Middle East by price gouging is not supported by evidence, an investigation by The Times suggests An analysis of fuel price rises at more than 6,000 petrol stations since the conflict in Iran began found that retailers had, on average, increased the cost of petrol by 12.1 per cent. Of those, only nine forecourts increased their petrol prices more than double the national average (24 per cent or more) The pump price increase is less than the 18 per cent rise in the wholesale price since the US attacks on Iran began. The findings cast doubt on claims by Starmer and Rachel Reeves, the chancellor, that petrol retailers have been exploiting the crisis in the Middle East to make additional profits at the expense of customers. thetimes.com/uk/politics/ar…

At least now little girls who dream of Olympic medals will know that biological males can't cheat their way onto their podium...or punch them relentlessly in the face and get a medal for it. Credit to Sharron Davies and Martina Navratilova, who spoke up despite attacks from those who should've known better. They spoke up when it was easier to stay quiet and paid the price in lost income and support.

They don’t argue with you. They rename reality. Ten new words a week. “Diversity” = ideological conformity. “Inclusion” = exclusion of dissent. “Equity” = engineered outcomes, not equal opportunity. “Lived experience” = anecdote that outranks data. “Problematic” = anything that challenges the orthodoxy. “Decolonize” = remove Western knowledge from institutions. “White rage” = disagreement while white. “Birthing person” = woman. @ConceptualJames built an entire encyclopedia just to translate this language. He can’t keep up. Nobody can. That’s not a failure of effort. That’s the design.
